If you are wondering, what is a Favicon?, It's the small image you see beside the address bar in your browser. I added mine a year ago, but the process was not easy. Now you can do it through Blogger. Just follow this link and it is pretty easy! http://bloggerindraft.blogspot.com/2011/06/customize-your-favicon.html
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: There's a free website that allows you to modify your pictures, including the "stacking" feature seen here. Just go to www.drpic.com. Upload a photo and choose "polarize". Select the "stacking option" and then save the file as a jpeg. Then post the photo on your blog for a different look!
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: I love sharing "App Tips" with my friends and would love to share any great iPhone App recommendations here. I just uploaded Scanner Pro today because I needed to fax or email a document and didn't have a scanner or fax. So all I had to do was take a photo of the documents on my phone and the app did the rest. It scanned it and saved it as a PDF. Them I emailed it!
http://readdle.com/products/scanner_pro_iphone/
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: For those of you that have a blog ... there are some basic tips you should know about. This link offers six easy steps for updating your blog’s sidebar labels to category listings:
http://EmptyEasel.com/2011/07/14/how-to-turn-blogger-tags-into-category-style-listings
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: There is no doubt that using videos to sell your art is a great idea. There are many great videos you can create to show off your art ... painting demos, a tour of your studio, and "how to's" that pertain to your art. Follow this link for many great tips when using videos to market your business.
29 Tips to Make Your Video Marketing
http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/29-tips-to-make-your-video-marketing-easy/
Easy Video marketing tips from social media pros: learn how to get started creating videos and improve how you market your videos for your business.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: I know it is early August, but it's time to start thinking about the holidays. As crazy as it may seem, you should be thinking about holiday cards and client gifts. You might need to paint a few holiday themed paintings now. "Don't let your In Box Become Your To Do List". It's so simple and yet so true. Make sure YOU control what you want to get accomplished, not your inbox! Think about it ...
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: You should consider your Facebook Fan page as if it is another website for your art. So make sure that wherever you promote your website you also have a link to your fan page. Your fan page can be seen by anyone, so add it to your email signature, blog, twitter, website and anywhere else you can promote it!
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: A year ago I posted a QR code on my blog. At the time almost NO ONE knew what it was. Now, QR codes are popping up everywhere. A QR code is a "print based hypertext link" and you can create one to link to your website, blog, video, Facebook fan page or buy now buttons. Put them on your business cards and on all of your printed materials. You can even create color ones. http://www.qrstuff.com/
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: I just read that 96% of your fans never revisit your FB fan page. That's ok, because as "fans" they will see your posts on their newsfeed. This does stress the importance of a great newsfeed. When you post on your fan page, make sure the information is catchy and informative. Remember to think and focus on improving your newsfeed, not just your fan page.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Just when you thought you were getting comfortable navigating Facebook ... another new social media "player" has entered the field. Google+ is out and there are plenty of test sites up and running. I am not sure when I will "jump on board" as my plate is pretty full. Check out Circles, Sparks, and Hangouts, just a few of the things we've been working on.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: It's not uncommon for artists to have questions about Facebook. As wonderful as Facebook is, I must say they do a pretty poor job in sharing information. If you have any questions about Facebook then you should go to the Help Center. I can promise you that just about every question you have has already been asked a million times ...
https://www.facebook.com/help/
Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, post links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: You might want to consider using a custom domain name for your blog. It's not hard to do ... and here's how you can switch over to a custom domain name on Blogger without any changes to your blog and it's contents.
Blogger Help
http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/static.py?page=ts.cs&ts=1233381
Blogger offers two free publishing options for your blog: hosting on BlogSpot (example.blogspot.com) and hosting on your own custom domain (www.example.com or foo.example.com). You can change your publishing option at anytime, and your content will always remain unaltered regardless of which of these you use.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: When you are posting in Facebook, don't forget to encourage comments. Every comment by a "fan" of your page creates more visibility, as it will appear in Facebook Newsfeed for all their friends to see. So ... what ways can you encourage comments?
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: It's summer time and the perfect time to ask your art friends if you can be a "guest blogger". This is one of the most effective ways to expand your blogging audience and I am sure there are many artists out there who would love to give you a chance! So I have to ask ... does anyone want me to be a guest blogger? Let me know!
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Looking for ways to get more people to sign up for your email newsletter? Take a few minutes today to look at all of the great things you have done so far this year and decide what else you want to accomplish in the next six months. And ... get caught up on your financials now. Don't wait until December ...
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: As long as you’re a fan of your own fan page, you can “@ tag” it on your own personal profile wall. From time to time, you can let your friends know about something happening on your fan page by writing a personal status update that includes tagging your fan page with an @ tag. Simply start typing the “@” symbol and the first few letters of your fan page name (this works whether you have your username registered or not), and it will appear from a drop-down menu to select. This then makes it a nice, subtle hyperlink that your friends can choose to click on.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Look at every piece of print media you use in your business. Your Facebook fan page (as well as Twitter and any other social sites you’re active on) should be clearly displayed. Put your Facebook fan page link (and the logo) on your business cards, letterhead, brochure, print newsletter, magazine ads, products, etc.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: If you have recently created a Facebook Fan page for your art business, don't forget to let your email list know about it. Send out an invitation to your subscribers letting them know and encourage them to join. Offer an incentive to join for best results.
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Are you tired of using a "bookmark" to save something you have found on the web? Only to find that you can't find it later on ... or forget about it completely? Use Evernote, an application that lets you "copy" a page from any website, file or document. The amazing part is you can then add, delete and modify your new Evernote document. Try it out and see.
http://www.evernote.com/
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Did you know you can determine what the world sees when they google your name? Just fill out your "google profile" and in almost all cases this information will pop up first in a google search. To create your own, go here: https://profiles.google.com/
Leslie Saeta - Google Profile
https://profiles.google.com/lesliesaetafineart/about

Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Consider taking advantage of inexpensive on-line printing services so you can have items such as note cards, brochures, postcards, etc. to promote your art. It's important to have promotional materials that feature your art. Every time I give someone a set of my art note cards, I know it means someone else will see my art! Ok ... I don't think it is a word but it should be. If you EVER have a question as to how to do something, whether it is " add a LIKE button on Facebook" or "wash out your brushes" ... ask the question in your google search bar. The answer is usually always there! It's always “googleable” ...
Leslie Saeta Fine Art - Today's Marketing Tip for Artists: Did you know you can use Google Alerts to see what’s on the web pertaining to YOUR art? I have three "google alerts" that come to my email every day. They are for "Leslie Saeta, "palette knife paintings" and "sailboat paintings". I love these updates and they are easy to set up.
http://www.google.com/alerts
Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.
