Helen Keller- Born on June 27,1880- lost vision and hearing at 19 months - began teaching by Anne Sullivan - Learned to read and write Braille - Enrolled in Radcliffe college with the help of Anne - Became the first blind/deaf person to graduate from Radcliffe- Helen Keller international was founded- held many lectures in the United States- successfully challenged lions international- Braille is accepted as the worlds standard alphabet- gave 97 lectures in Japan- attended a performance at the opera house- visited military hospitals- traveled to 35 different continents- won an Oscar award for a movie on her life- became the first women to get a honorary award from Harvard university- the miracle worker came out on broadway- was awarded the presidential medal of honer award- died at the age of 88
