    • WEATHER HEADLINES
      How do winter storms form?Winter storms derive their energy from the clash of two air masses of different temperatures and moisture levels. Winter storms usually form when an air mass of cold, dry, Canadian air moves south and interacts with a warm, moist air mass moving north from the Gulf of Mexico. The point where these two air masses meet is called a front. If cold air advances and pushes away the warm air, it forms a cold front. When warm air advances, it rides up over the denser, cold air mass to form a warm front. If neither air mass advances, it forms a stationary front.

    • BOOK OF THE WEEKMain Street Series/Welcome to Camden Falls ( books)(Realistic Fiction)Ann M. Martin
      Flora and her sister Ruby didn't want to move to Camden Falls, but they didn't have a choice.  After their parents died in a terrible car accident, they had to live with Min, their grandmother.  Min stayed at their own house till school was out, but then they had to move to Min's house.  She owned a sewing store in Camden Falls, and had a house that had been in the family for generations.  Camden Falls was her home, and the store would support the three of them.  Flora and Ruby had visited Camden Falls many times, but this time it was a one-way trip, and that made everything different.
      CHECK IT OUT IN THE NORTHRIDGE MEDIA CENTER!!! Read the series…………

    • ANALOGY OF THE WEEK
      BASKETBALL : SPORT :: _____ : cheese
      dairy
      mozzarella
      sandwich
    • ANALOGY OF THE WEEK ANSWER
      MOZZARELLA
      The best answer is mozzarella. The relationship between the first pair of words, BASKETBALL and SPORT, is that of item to category—one word names something that falls into the category, or group, named by the other word. Therefore, the second pair of words must also have an item-to-category relationship. Mozzarella is a type of cheese.
