    3. What is a Podcast?
      • In brief a podcast is:
        • an audio recording that is distributed via the internet
        • downloaded and listen to via a PC or mobile device
        • a syndicated feed that uses RSS to pull the files to the user
      • The term podcast is a a portmanteau of the words " iPod " and " broadcast ", the Apple iPod being the brand of portable media player for which the first podcasting scripts were developed
    4. Where can I Get Podcasts?
      • iTunes
      • Online directories
    5. Types of Podcasts
      • You can podcast several different types of files
        • Audio – usually mp3 format
        • Enhanced Audio (with images) – mv4 format
        • Video – mpg4 or mov (iPod compatible) – also called vidpod
        • PDF – also called eBooks
      • As most people use iTunes to subscribe to podcasts you need to have your files in a format that iTunes recognises
    6. How do I make a Podcast?
      • 3 main steps
        • Record the audio file
        • Put it in a ‘broadcast’ folder on internet
        • Get the subscription link
      • We will focus on Audio

      • Go to Lee-Anne’s ePortfolio homepage on cLc to find links to podbean demonstration
    8. Using the cLc to Podcast
      • Podcasts need an RSS feed to work!
      • cLc can create RSS folders
      • Put audio/video files into folder
      • Copy URL of RSS folder to iTunes
      • Anywhere you create a folder you can create a podcast
      • The podcast has the security of the group that it belongs to

      • Feedburner takes the URL from the RSS folder and does all the hard work
