Old school tattoo designs: what do you need to know
Tattoos come in lots of designs and folks have been wearing them for many years. For lots of people, ‘tattoos’ are thought of as the age-old or established brand of tattoos contained in library collections. Such markings have passed the test of time and are an excellent supply of ideas to employ when you are planning your personal tattoo.
Folks who have old school tattoos have them for lots of reasons. For a few, they reaffirm a symbol of tradition (whether of their loved ones, social life or profession). Therefore, there is a awareness of familiarity and security from such tattoos. For other people, the tattoo symbolizes being part of a particular faction.
Old school tattoos also demonstrate nostalgia. Maybe the tattooed person had preferred books or tv shows growing up which introduced them to a specific tattoo; maybe the tattooed person wants to associate themselves with a particular faction or age from history.
Many of the more traditional tattoos are bright and colorful. Because of this, many folks choose them because they are lots of fun.
At the moment, loads of people who choose to have traditional tattoo designs do so with a sense of humor. However, this need not always be the case. Having a traditional tattoo inked onto your lower back is a great way of integrating old and new – the marking may be traditional, but its positioning is not.
Sea-themed tattoos are popular. These include anchors, stars and mermaids, to reference just some. Anchors are a cool addition because of their curved shape. In addition, you can have pictures (preferably your own to avoid removal surgery if a relationship ends) included into the design. In addition, stars are perfect, as they can be formatted into any shape to track the curves of your lower back. A mermaid is an excellent method of emphasizing your womanliness, and exploiting the mermaid’s long locks to mount the bottom of your back.
Birds are also very popular. They can be located in the centre of your lower back to face straight on if you would prefer a mirror-image design, or placed off-centre to incorporate a breathtaking plunge; it’s up to you to play with the designs to find one you are passionate about. An eagle shows strength and heroism, and a blue swallow symbolizes a homecoming and life.
There is also a large range of more melancholic old school tattoo designs you might like to think about. The most gruesome of all would be the bare skull. It has been a sign of death, toxicity and danger. Maybe you could incorporate some feminine images to make it more lighthearted? Further, the grim-reaper is becoming popular, but there’s no reason to not personalize that one too. Further, there are the usual knife and barbed wire designs. Paradoxically, a barbed wire tattoo could be apt for your lower back given the curves of the wire.
Love is a constant symbol used in tattoos, whether of the heart or the name of a loved one or of a petal. A horseshoe tattoo symbolizes good luck and fortune.
There are loads of old school tattoo designs available, so take lots of time to research which ones appeal to you, then maybe think about if you would like to adapt it to make it perfect for you. They have lasted the test of time, so take full advantage!
