The Fat Fast is a controlled carb program where you count calories. It was made for metabolically resistant people who can barely lose weight on any other diet. It can be dangerous for people who lose weight fairly easily on any diet because the rate of weight loss is too rapid to be safe.

    When to do the Fat Fast:
    Dr. Atkins said: “Let’s make it clear that the Fat Fast is actually dangerous for anyone who is not metabolically resistant. For people who lose weight fairly easily, the rate of weight loss is too rapid to be safe. But it carries very little risk for people who can barely lose on any other regimen. The reason why I ask such people to try the Fat Fast is to let them know that it is possible to lose weight.” (Atkins, Robert C. Dr Atkins’ New Diet Revolution. New York, 2002. 272-274.)
    What to eat during Fat Fast:
    *1 ounce of macadamia nuts or macadamia nut butter
    *2 ounces of cream cheese or Brie
    *1 ounce of tuna or chicken salad with 2 teaspoons of mayonnaise served in one-quarter of an avocado
    *2 deviled eggs made with 2 teaspoons of mayonnaise
    *2 ounces of sour cream and 2 tablespoons black or red caviar
    *2 ½ ounces whipped heavy cream topped with sucralose zero-calorie syrup
    *2 ounces of pate
    *2 egg yolks (hard-boiled) with one tablespoon of mayonnaise
    How to do the Fat Fast:
    *Eat 1000 calories a day
    *75-90% fat
    *Eat 5x a day (1 meal every 4 hours)
    *Eat 200 calories at each meal
