All About Simple Navigation - Presentation Transcript

    1. All About Simple Navigation
    2. What is the Simple Navigation? Simple Navigation is the menu, or way people get to the different pages in your website. The best news of all…it basically builds itself! The default settings will give you the navigation you will need.
    3. How it works By default, all pages added to the root (or main level ) of a website will be added to the simple navigation. Also any folders off the root of the website will be added to the simple nav. The Home Page is an example of a page built off the root. Folder One is an example of a folder built off the root.
    4. Adding a Page When you add a page to your website, you can decide whether to show the page in the navigation. This option is located in the Advanced Options of Add Page or you can use Edit Properties in the Page Manager to show/hide the page from the navigation. Unless the page you are adding is built off the root, the setting will be to not show the page in the navigation. To show the page in the navigation, click on the Yes button in Show Page In Navigation.
    5. Adding a Folder When you add a folder to your website, you can decide whether to show the Folder in the navigation. This option is located in the Advanced Options of Add Folder or you can use Edit Properties in the Folder Manager to show/hide the folder from the navigation. Unless the folder you are adding is built off the root, the setting will be to not show the page in the navigation. To show the folder in the navigation, click on the Yes button in Show Page In Navigation.
    6. Navigation Settings You can make changes to the display order of the simple navigation. In the Website Manager, click on the Design and Layout Tab. Then click on the pencil in the upper left corner of the simple navigation element.
    7. Navigation Settings
      • You can then order the display of pages and folders in the simple navigation.
      • Your choices are
      • Alphabetical
      • Newest to oldest
      • Oldest to Newest
      • Manual (You choose the order)
      • Click Save when you are done.
