    2. When you're trying to lose fat and build the body of your dreams, the #1 most important thing you need to do is ditch the old-school 'traditional' fat loss programs and start using functional training.
    3. When I say traditional fat loss programs, I'm referring to workout programs that usually involve two things: tons of slow, boring cardio together with a bunch of old-fashioned bodypart resistance training.
    4. For some reason, people throughout the course of the last century have been using these same tired methods over and over again - usually with little to no results in the gym to show for it.

    12. Instead of trying to isolate muscles and train them individually, you need to focus on training your whole body as a unit as well as working out in a way that replicates the way humans were designed to move in real life.
    13. What that means in practice is that unless you're an endurance athlete or someone who just loves to run, you don't ever need to do long, slow cardio again.
    14. Think about it - was the human body designed to run endlessly over long distances? No way!
    15. We are hunters and foragers and our bodies have been programmed over the course of time to move in short bursts of action followed by a period of rest.
    16. That's why interval training, which is based on short bursts of activity, is MUCH more effective for fat loss than running is.
    17. And that's also why functional exercises like pushups and lunges are much more effective for building your dream body than old school exercises like leg presses and tricep kickbacks.
    18. Your body is designed to use multiple muscle groups at once, not to isolate individual muscles and work them on their own.
