A Newsletter Begins

Ah, Autumn!
It’s always been one of my most favorite seasons. For many of my
US friends that means cooler weather, sweaters, boots, pumpkin pie,
and hot cocoa. For me, in Ecuador at the moment, it actually means
warmer weather is coming.
I have been thrilled the last few weeks to see more sun and less
rain here in the midst of the Andes Mountains.
As, we start a new month and new season, I thought it would be a
great time to begin this special newsletter just for my Immensely
Social subscribers and Slide Share followers.
As someone juggling enough email and social media accounts to
make the average person go insane, I’m certainly not into sending
you random, time-sucking content just for the fun of it.
I know you’re busy and I value your time, as much as my own!
The purpose of this newsletter will be to provide you with tips and
inspiration once a month to help you stay on top of your health,
personal, and business goals.
I will share with you what I’m personally working on in my own
“self-improvement” journey, any challenges I would like for you to
join me with, things I’m enjoining, recommendations, and blog
highlights you may not have had time to read.

What I’m Reading
Before I jump into some highlights from the past
month, I just want to take a moment to Thank YOU!
I want to thank you for your support of my work at
Immensely Social.
I want to thank you for signing up for this
newsletter, and for taking a chance on me.
I have so much love in my heart for my readers!
I created the blog with young, female entrepreneurs
in mind, but wish it to be an inspiration to anyone
and everyone on the path to making their dreams
come true!

This month, I’m learning to embrace this
wonderful quote:

people get better. You cannot get poor
enough to help poor people thrive. It is only
in your thriving that you have anything to
offer anyone. If you're wanting to be of an
advantage to others, be as tapped in, tuned
in, turned on as you can possibly be."

We often have limiting beliefs, fears, and guilt
about striving for an abundant life.
We have thoughts like, “Why should I get rich when
there are so many people suffering.”
It’s what I’m calling the “children starving in
Africa syndrome.” I’ve been to Africa and worked
with the children, so please understand my love
and empathy runs deep.
I’m not in anyway discounting someone else’s
pain. But, let me ask you this, “How does your
being broke, ill, etc. help them?” It doesn’t, does it?
The more work I do on my own personal
expansion, the more I realize this important
principle,
The best thing you can do for anyone else is live
the most beautiful, abundant life you can. Then
you can help pull others up, and then you can lead
by example.
I’ve been working my way through T. Harv
Eker’s wonderful book, Secrets of the Millionaire
Mind.
I will get the highlights up on the blog sometime
soon. But, let’s just say I have logged back into my
Mint.com account and taken an honest look at my
finances.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, deals greatly with
mindset, but it’s also about taking needed action.
I’ll be honest, it’s time for me to get real and get
organized!
Sometimes we put stuff off because facing it is
scary and seems overwhelming.
You know what is more time consuming and
overwhelming?
Letting something propagate constantly in the back
of your mind and never dealing with it!!!
Wouldn’t it be better to just take the action you
need, accept the reality, and take your control
back!

3. Yu-mi
Which brings me to some Tough Love from the blog …
YOU must take 100% responsibility for
your life!
Please know, I’m not telling you that it is your
fault if you have some horrible illness or
something terrible that has happened to you.
What I am telling you is that, until you take
responsibility for the things in your life that
you can control (which is your response),
nothing is going to give!
No matter what happens, you can control
how you respond. Tony Robbins talks a great
deal about the “story” you tell yourself.
Change your story, and you change your life!
It’s that simple. Ok, maybe the implementation
is not so simple, but only because us humans
like to complicate things.
Catch yourself in a negative story, and
use it as warning to focus on what you
DO want.
Beware of words like “always” and
“never.” Example: “Things never go
right for me.”
If you stop to evaluate a statement like
that, I bet you’ll find that it’s not
actually true. And, even if it is, you can
turn it around by taking Jack Canfield’s
advice and adding “Up until now” to
the front.
“Up until now, thanks have never gone
well for me.” This lets you know you are
in the process of changing it!
I couldn’t complete this newsletter without
telling you how Yu-mi is enjoying Ecuador.
Well, she is as spoiled as ever!
You can see her, in the picture there, enjoying

IMMENSELY SOCIAL FALL 2013
One of my favorite times in Ecuador this
past month was an “in house” concert I
attended. Broadway’s Cindy Benson joined
Vivian Slade, a regular participant in the
“Jazz Society of Ecuador.” Cindy is a recent
addition to Ecuador after spending years
working Broadway shows in New York.
Listening to the two of them perform, with
gorgeous views like this one, from the condo
was delightful.
