This review is from: Proctor-Silex 59738 Hand Blender (Kitchen) I have another immersion blender at home, and it’s a more expensive brand, which is why I was surprised when this little guy turned out to be almost as powerful. I’m not about to use it to make smoothies, or crush ice, or anything that’s heavy duty. I have a blender for that. Instead, this is perfect for making emulsions, dressings, sauces, and pureeing soup while the soup is still in its own pot. This review is from: Proctor-Silex 59738 Hand Blender (Kitchen) I use the blender for smoothies (with frozen fruit, not ice) and it does a decent job blending. The flaw is that there is a deep well at the bottom where honey or peanut butter (which I sometimes add) get stuck. This well is up past the blade and comes to a crease making it really difficult to clean. Considering how easy other hand blenders are

Prichard "Customer" / January 3, 2013 (Edit) 31 of 35 people found the following review helpful It’s good., May 18, 2012 By Charles C. Prichard “Customer” (Ocean Beach, Ca USA) – This review is from: Proctor-Silex 59738 Hand Blender (Kitchen) I bought a new Proctor Silex hand mixer for less than $20 and so far so good. Much better than my $50 Cuisinart which stripped gears after a few uses. Unlike the Cuisinart, this is one piece and doesn’t have different attachments. It’s a chopper. It doesn’t come apart. You get what you get. And what you get really works. It does one thing well. After a week of use I decided to read the instructions. Mostly it’s standard stuff, but the “How to clean the hand blender” section caught my eye. 1) Unplug item from outlet. 2) Place hot, soapy water into a deep container, such as a pitcher. Submerge shaft into container and run hand blender for 30 seconds. Unplug and rince shaft with water; then dry. Does anybody proofread this stuff?
