  2. 2. Background Information <ul><ul><li>He was born in February 24, 1955 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>He was born in San Francisco and was adopted by Paul and Clara. Some sources list San Altos, California as Job's place of birth. He attended Cupertino Juniour high School and enrolled in Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Although he dropped out after one semester, he continued in auditing classes such as one in calligraphy </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. Steve's Interests <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>As a child, Jobs preferred doing things by himself. He swam competitively, but was not interested in team sports or other group activities. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  He showed an early interest in electronics and gadgetry. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>He spent a lot of time working in the garage workshop of a neighbor who worked at Hewlett-Packard, an electronics manufacturer. </li></ul></ul>
  4. 4. The Macintosh Computer <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>He started his company in a garage as a college drop out </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In 1984 Steve Jobs introduced the Macintosh. Macintosh became the first commercially successful small computer  with a graphical user interface. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In 1996 he bought NeXT for $429 million </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  With the purchase of NeXT, much of the company's technology found its way into Apple products, most notably NeXT Step , which evolved into Mac OSX </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In 2000 he became the CEO </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>In 2007 he introduced ipods and other music players </li></ul></ul>

Apple <ul><ul><li>In April 1, 1976 he and Stephen Woznaik formed Apple in Cupertino, California, USA </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Now Apple has about 350,000 employees worldwide </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The company operates in about 250 stores worldwide in nine countries and an online store. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  The products are of computer hardware, computer software, consumer electronics and digital distribution </li></ul></ul>

The Iphone 3g <ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>In January 2007 Steve Jobs introduced the long awaited iphone </li></ul><ul><li>The original iPhone combined a feat 2.5 G quad band GSM and EDGE cellular phone with   with features found in hand held devices </li></ul><ul><li>In June 8, 2009 the iphone 3GS was announced to an enthusiastic public </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>
  7. 7. Problems Along the Way <ul><li>In 1989 Apple produced a bulky macintosh portable which caused several problems in the way. Apple sold fewer than 100,000 units. It was 17 pounds and had a 12 hour battery life </li></ul><ul><li>There was a high price tag as well </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>He learned his lesson and produced a powerbook that was 7 pounds and had a 3 hour battery system. It sold in billions of dollars in the first year </li></ul><ul><li>During this time Apple experimented with a number of other failed consumer targeted products that continued to slide. Stock prices decreased </li></ul><ul><li>Then in 1997 his stock started to increase in value again </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

These are the reasons why he is so succesful </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Have a Vision for your life. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Attack setbacks with Determination. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Grab an opportunity when it presents itself. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Attack challenges with excellence. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  And MOST IMPORTANT is Focus!!!! </li></ul></ul>
