Start a New ProjectChoose the Voice OptionSave with your name inthe default Garage BandFolder
Add Loops and RecordingsClick here tohear andadd musicloopsRecord yourvoice on eitherof these tracks
Record Your MessagePlug a microphonein so there is nobackground noisein your recordingThis mutes all othertracks. Use it if youhave already addedsome music.Remember to clickoff when finishedMake sure you aregetting a nice bigwave pattern. Clickagain to make itdisappear.
1. The finished Riff should be less than 20 seconds long.2. It should have at least 4 or 5 tracks3. Break up the speaking parts with music in between. Split =4. Make a pattern and repeat the loops so that it sounds like acomposition. For example repeat the same loop at thebeginning and the end.
It is important to turn on “Ducking”in the control menu. This makesyour voice stand out over themusic. The voice track has theyellow up arrow.Metronome = off
Last StepExport your Riff to Disk. Usethe default settings and thenput the file into your group’splaylist.You mustcomplete this finalstep or your songwill not play. Thefinal file that goesinto the playlist isa music file not aGarage Band fileListen to your finished Riff and check that there are no funny clicks or backgroundnoises that need to be deleted. Get a friend to listen to it too and give you somefeedback.
