  2. 2. Al's Day and Uncle Bobby <ul><li>A proud military history </li></ul><ul><li>Al's family did their 'bit' during the World War Two defending our freedom </li></ul>
  3. 3. Al's Day during WW 2 <ul><li>Here is my dad loading a military plane during one of the battles of WW 2 </li></ul><ul><li>Al has a deep respect for our military history and sacrifice of our troops </li></ul>
  4. 4. Royal Canadian Cadets <ul><li>A 7 th Oshawa Cubs and an Ontario Regiment Army Cadet Corp member </li></ul><ul><li>Seven years taught marksmanship and firearm safety </li></ul>
  5. 5. Michael Faraday Competition <ul><li>Won the Lt Governor medal at Camp Ipperwash </li></ul><ul><li>Twice at the Imperial Rifle Competition in England as member of the Canadian National Junior Rifle Team </li></ul>

  8. 8. My Union History <ul><li>Thirty-Three years of union membership </li></ul><ul><li>Worked in production and as a millwright at the Oshawa plants </li></ul><ul><li>Staunch union supporter </li></ul><ul><li>Strong belief in the importance of quality of GM products </li></ul>
  9. 9. A Worker since 3 yrs old <ul><li>Long before he was working in the plant he knew the value of hard work </li></ul>

Leadership Qualities <ul><li>He lead the membership of CAW Local 222 who voted 86% in favour of a binding referendum to NOT support any political party including the NDP </li></ul><ul><li>He believes in getting rid of partisan politics in union elections and operations </li></ul><ul><li>This has unfortunately has been underminded by the previous and existing union leaders </li></ul>
