  3. 3. EXAMPLE This soup can has a diameter of 2.625 inches and a height of 3.875 inches. To find the Surface area and volume the soup can: SA= 2πr² + 2πrh Next use the formula to fine the Volume: (area of the base times height) V = Bh = πr²h V = 3.14 * 1.3125² * 3.875 V = 20.96
