  • 2. About the Author  Hi, I’m Sam G. the author of this Powerpoint.I like dogs, Video games, Italian food, and baseball.I’m writing this PowerPoint because I think moose are cool.
  • 3. Who am I?  This animal is a moose. The Alaskan race is The largest. Moose love to swim. Moose have long faces and muzzels that dangle over there chins.
  • 4. Early Years  The hair of a newborn moose is red-brown. Calves way 28 to 35 pounds ! Calves in a few weeks can be up to 300 pounds! They begin to take in solid food only a few days after birth!
  • 5. Habitat Sweet Habitat  Moose live in northern Canada and Alaska. The area they live in is forests or swampy marshes. The moose also live in Russia and parts of Europe.
  • 6. What’s on the Menu ?  Moose eat tall grass, shrubs,sedges,ho rsetail,and pond weeds in the spring. In winter the moose eat pinecones, willow,birch,and aspen twigs.
  • 7. Making Tracks Moose use their hooves as snow shoes for soft powdery snow in winter and for moving in swampy areas. Moose migrate from a few miles to 60 miles!
  • 8. Simply Irresistible!  By late October adult males have exhausted their summer storage of fat. Moose shed their antlers in November.
  • 9. Where In The World?  Moose live in Northern north America,Europ e,and Russia.
  • 10. Did you know…  1.Moose is the largest in the deer species.2. At the shoulder Moose are the height of a full grown man 3. The average life span for a moose is 15 to 20 years 4.male moose can be up to1,600 pounds!
