  2. 2. About the Author  My name is Kaylee.  I love chicken alfredo.  My hobbies are painting and drawing  I am writing about the Wolverine, because I love Wolverines.  I am involved in 4-H Shooting Sports.
  3. 3. Who am I? • The wolverine is 26- 41 inches long. • It’s tail is 17-26 centimeters long. • It lives from 7-12 years. It is brown. • It is the largest member of the weasel family.
  4. 4. The Early Years  The wolverines gestation period is 30- 50 days.  2-3 kits are born at one time.  They weigh about 84 grams  They are white.  They are weaned at about 9-10 weeks.  When they are born their eyes are closed.
  5. 5. Habitat Sweet Habitat Wolverines live in dens amongst roots and rocks. They have a very large home range. The males territory sometimes overlaps the females territory.
  6. 6. What’s on the Menu? Wolverines eat mostly meat. They eat deer, hare, rodents, birds, eggs, carrion, and seasonal fruits. They are omnivores.
  7. 7. Making Tracks Wolverine’s feet have pads on the bottom of their feet. Their claws are large, so they can walk through heavy snow.
  8. 8. Simply Irresistible! Wolverine’s babies are called kits. They have an unpleasant odor. They are known as the “skunk bear.”
  9. 9. Where in the World? They are found in Canada, NW USA, & E Asia. They are most likely to live in the woods.
