  8. 8. AISD Teaching and Learning•Instructional technology must be TEKS-based.•Students will select technology appropriate for tasks•PreK-4 students will master grade-level keyboarding skills.•Grades 3-6 must master age-appropriate, computer-basedproductivity tools. Powerpoint Templates Page 8

AISD Teaching and Learning•Elementary and Intermediate students will receive basictechnology application instruction in the computer lab froma qualified technology instructor.•Grades 7-12 students will demonstrate technologyproficiency in every subject•Students will demonstrate mastery of curriculumbenchmarks by creating products. AISD Educator and PreparationDevelopment•Continuing professional development andtraining sessions throughout the district will beprovided on an ongoing basis.•Professional development models will beevaluated quarterly and updated as necessary.•AISD will provide a model for teachers to use inintegrating technology in every subject area. AISD will budget for :•Growth and expansion of infrastructure so newtechnologies can be integrated into the network•Replacement of wireless connectivity with wiredconnectivity for all temporary buildings•Scheduled refresh of campus LANs, beginning with theoldest or most stressed networks•Continued maintenance, replacement, andcentralization of technology services at the district’sdata center•Equalization of technology services and equipmentdistrict-wide.
