Coaching For Success

 1. 1. Coaching for success
Linda K Sommer, MBA
2. 2. What is “success”?
Success is doing what you say you are going to do
It is personal
It is all relative
Defining success is simple
Getting there is not always easy
3. 3. What is coaching?
Coaching is a highly personal learning process that brings about performance improvement and personal growth.
Coaching sets a plan of action that will change your thinking and behavior by building confidence, competence and commitment.
4. 4. Why work with a coach?
You have a new challenge or opportunity.
You want to reorient your priorities.
You want someone to hold you accountable to live up to your potential.
There is a gap between where you are and where you want to be.
You have a vision of the future and want someone to support your dreams.
5. 5. Coaching is about the future
You may need to prepare for a promotion or strengthen leadership skills.
You may need to “unlearn” behavior that has become a liability.
Coaching for leadership is focused on your future development and personal growth.
Coaching develops more skills and capabilities for a future job or helps clarify goals about current challenges.
6. 6. It is about CHANGE
“People come to coaching for lots of different reasons, but the bottom line is CHANGE.”
Laura Whitworth, Co-Active Coaching
Change in personal thinking and habits.
Change in business strategy.
Change initiatives in your organization.
Change into unknown and unexplored areas.
Change when you just feel overwhelmed.
7. 7. It is all about YOU
The role of coach is to hold up a mirror so you can
reflect on behavior,
clarify goals and
identify blind spots.
Coaching helps reveal inconsistency in behavior and action so you can make informed choices about how you relates to others.
Coaching can help you get unstuck.
8. 8. How does it work?
A “success” coach will
Provide objective feedback
Will listen, question, encourage and challenge
Will not provide the answers
Will ask you to:
Make personal observations
Practice new behaviors
Your role is to create goals and take action.
9. 9. What does it cost?
TIME
Individual coaching at Success Savvy is a combination of face-to-face or tele-coaching sessions of 45-60 minutes per week.
EFFORT
A minimum thirteen week engagement is required with up to five hours a week in assignments and observations
MONEY*
13 Week Engagement is $2200.
A 26 Week Engagement is $4000.
* Individual Leadership Assessments are available for additional investment
