    • What is the EU? • The European Union is a group of countries whose governments work together. • It's a bit like a club. To join you have to agree to follow the rules and in return you get certain benefits. • Each country has to pay money to be a member. They mostly do this through taxes. • The EU uses the money to change the way people live and do business in Europe. • Countries join because they think that they will benefit from the changes the EU makes.
    • Portugal • Lisbon • Population, in Portugal 10.5m • The Portuguese food is usually served in large portions, and gives very good value for money. For lovers of seafood, like I am, there are lots of excellent dishes to choose from. • One of my favorites is quot;arroz de mariscoquot;, mixed seafood in rice. Another one is quot;bife de atumquot;, tuna steak. • The spiciest dishes are found in the Azores and Madeira. • Breakfast (Pequeno almoço) is usually a cup of coffee, bread roll and butter. • Lunch (Almoço): Noon - 3.00 pm • Dinner (Jantar): 7.00 pm - 10.00 pm
    • Portugal and place to go • Currency-Euros • beach • City • Theme parks
