    School Technology and Readiness. The Chart is a Teacher Tool for planning and self-assessing. It is aligned with the  Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.
  • STaR Chart
    The purpose of developing the STaR Chart is to assist all classroom teachers in assessing needs and setting goals for using technology, in the classroom, to support student achievement.
    One way the chart is useful is in fulfilling requirements of No Child Left Behind and Title II
  • STaR Chart
    Other areas the STaR Chart is useful:
    Assists in fulfilling Part D that all teachers should be technology literate and integrate technology into content areas across the curriculum.
    The legislation also requires that all students should be technology literate by the time they leave the eighth grade.
  • STaR’s Four Focus Areas
    Four areas of focus for the STaR and new long range plan:
    • Teaching and Learning;
    • Educator Preparation and Development;
    • Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support; and
    • Infrastructure for Technology.
  • STaR’s Four Focus Areas
    There are levels of progress ranging from Early Tech to Target Tech. The goal for all Texas teachers is to reach the Target Tech level
  • Results and Reports
    Since its introduction over 172,039 teachers have completed the chartin the 2004-2005 school year.
    More than 172,783 completed it in the 2005-2006 school year.

    According to these findings, technology at Dunbar is mostly used for administrative tasks and classroom management.
