HURDLE A difficult problem to be overcome; an obstacle. Verb: To leap over (a barrier), to master (a difficulty, problem) overcome.
Hurdles exist for all of us. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been serving the Lord or weather you are in a leadership position, or even a Pastor – there are hurdles along our journey.
In my busy day today, while still trying to take care of what was already lined up for the day, I had to be available to minister and put forth what God was speaking for others.
While taking a moment to take a breather, I saw a picture, like the one above, with a young lady jumping over a hurdle, and then I heard the Lord say, “some are just standing staring at the hurdle waiting for it to move out their way – but they need to jump over it and keep going.”
Is that you? Are you just standing there staring at the hurdle? Are you waiting for God to send someone your way to move it out the way for you? Or maybe just waiting for Him to supernaturally move it out the way for you.
God showed me someone standing in front of the hurdle whining about their current situation and wondering why no one is coming to their rescue.
Ladies out of obedience to God I must say, “Jump over the hurdle and keep moving forward, and stop the whining.”
1THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
2Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
