    1. Entry Level 3 Speaking and Listening
    2. About the exam
      • 2 candidates
      • 2 examiners – an interlocutor and an assessor
      • All questions are answered orally
      • Lasts for 20-22 minutes
    3. Exam phases
      • 1a. Personal information
      • Asked to give (and spell) your name and to give your nationality .
      • Then asked how long you have lived in Britain.
      • Then given a task in which you ask each other questions on a given familiar topic, for example previous studies and learning, for about three minutes.
    4. Exam phases
      • 1b. Presentation
      • Talk for one and a half minutes on a subject given to you by the examiner. The other student then asks you 3 questions .
      • Eg. ‘a famous person you admire’ or ‘the things you have done to improve your English’
    5. Exam phases
      • 2a. Listening – 2 recordings
      • Gist question to answer after the first listening.
      • Three detail questions to answer after the second listening.
      • 2b. Conversation
      • Based on what you have just listened to.

      • personal details/experiences
      • work
      • education/training
      • housing
      • family and friends
      • health
      • transport
      • weather
      • buying goods
      • leisure
      • UK society
