First Semester School Year 2011-2012
Term Project: Architectural Documentation of Heritage Structures in Bohol
The term research project will be done as a group. The following can serve as your guide in going about the
completion of this specific course requirement.
What to submit:
1. AS A GROUP (50%):
a. Research findings (that will include the write-up, freehand drawings, sketches, and photographs)
– hard & soft copy in PDF
Here’s a recommended basic outline:
Title: Documenting the (name of heritage structure)
i. Introduction (the 411 on the heritage structure assigned)
ii. Architectural Documentation (freehand drawings, sketches, photos)
- Plans & Elevations
- Perspective
- Interesting architectural/ structural features
iii. Conservation and Rehabilitation Issues
iv. Conclusion and Recommendations
b. Audio Visual Presentation of Research Findings to be presented in a Research Forum (venue and
date TBA) – soft copy in PPT
Please follow slide presentation rules (i.e. 6x6 rule, KISS: Keep It Short & Simple, more visual than text-
heavy, etc.).
2. INDIVIDUALLY (50%)
A personal journal which will contain the following:
a. A personal reflection on the assigned heritage structure
b. A personal reflection on documenting the assigned heritage structure recalling the cultural heritage
discussions and of working as a group
c. What were the problems you encountered in doing this architectural documentation project? How
did you and your group mates address these problems/concerns?
d. What did you enjoy most in this architectural documentation project?
Hard copy only, on short bondpaper. Font type Arial, size 11-12. Single space. Border 1” all over.
The above requirements should be submitted on or before October 3, 2011. The group must, however, submit
preliminary findings (initial sketches, photographs in a PDF format) thru email on September 5, 2011. Hard copy
will be submitted personally to the instructor. All soft copy requirements may be emailed to the following email
address: lizamacalandag@gmail.com or via a flash drive.
