2. Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, quot; All
authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. [19] Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely
I am with you always, to the very end of the
age.quot;
4. Baptism is a symbol of our
identification with Christ.
5. Romans 6:1-4
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on
sinning so that grace may increase? [2] By no
means! We died to sin; how can we live in it
any longer? [3] Or don't you know that all of
us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were
baptized into his death? [4] We were therefore
buried with him through baptism into death in
order that, just as Christ was raised from the
dead through the glory of the Father, we too
may live a new life.
6. Mark 8:34-38
Then he called the crowd to him along with
his disciples and said: quot;If anyone would
come after me, he must deny himself and
take up his cross and follow me. [35] For
whoever wants to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for me and for the
gospel will save it. [36] What good is it for a
man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his
soul?
7. Mark 8:34-38 Continued
[37] Or what can a man give in exchange for
his soul? [38] If anyone is ashamed of me
and my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed
of him when he comes in his Father's glory
with the holy angels.quot;
8. Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of
God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
9. We don’t obey Christ because:
It’s easy or hard
Popular or unpopular
Convenient or inconvenient
11. Most Westerners take baptism for
granted, but for many in the world
the act requires immense courage.
In countries like Nepal it once
meant imprisonment. For Soviet or
Chinese or Eastern bloc believers,
it was like signing their own death
warrant.

12. Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is baptized will
be saved, but whoever does not believe
will be condemned.
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, quot;Repent and be baptized,
every one of you, in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
And you will receive the gift of the Holy
Spirit.”
14. Acts 8:36-39
Now as they went down the road, they
came to some water. And the eunuch
said, quot;See, here is water. What hinders
me from being baptized?quot; [37] Then
Philip said, quot;If you believe with all your
heart, you may.quot; And he answered and
said, quot;I believe that Jesus Christ is the
Son of God.quot;
15. Acts 8:36-39 Continued
[38] So he commanded the chariot to
stand still. And both Philip and the
eunuch went down into the water, and
he baptized him. [39] Now when they
came up out of the water, the Spirit of
the Lord caught Philip away, so that the
eunuch saw him no more; and he went
on his way rejoicing.
16. A living faith produces an
obedient heart and water
baptism is to be our first act
of obedience.
17. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible
quot;Therefore, if any person is
(ingrafted) in Christ (the Messiah)
he is a new creation (a new
creature altogether); the old
(previous moral and spiritual
condition) has passed away.
Behold, the fresh and new has
come!
