    • Covenant Life Living Hope Church 9.20.09
    • Isaiah 55:9-13 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. [10] As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
    • Isaiah 55:9-13 (cont.) [11] so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. [12] You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
    • Hebrews 10:19-21 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, [20] by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, [21] and since we have a great priest over the house of God
    • Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart ….
    • Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
    • Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. [25] Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
    • John Wesley There is nothing more unchristian that a solitary Christian.
    • Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
    • John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. [35] By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
    • Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
    • Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
    • Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
    • Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
    • Living Hope Membership Covenant
    • Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior…. I commit myself to God and to the other members to do the following: I will protect the unity of my church by; Acting in love toward other members
    • Romans 14:19 NLT So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
    • 1 Peter 1:22 GW Love each other with a warm love that comes from the heart. After all, you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth. As a result you have a sincere love for each other.
    • I will protect the unity of my church by; Refusing to Gossip
    • Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
    • I will protect the unity of my church by; Following the Leaders
    • Hebrews 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
    • Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
    • Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
    • Galatians 5:16-26 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. [17] For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. [18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
    • Galatians 5:16-26 (cont.) [19] The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; [20] idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions [21] and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
    • Galatians 5:16-26 (cont.) [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness and self- control. Against such things there is no law. [24] Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. [25] Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. [26] Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
    • 1 Cor. 11:23-32 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, [24] and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." [25] In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." [26] For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
    • 1 Cor. 11:23-32 (cont.) [27] Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. [28] A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. [29] For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. [30] That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. [31] But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. [32] When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
    • I will protect the unity of my church by; • Acting in love toward other members • By refusing to gossip • By following the leaders
