  • 1. Welcome to: Skype to Singapore.
  • 2. What is Skype Skype is a software application that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet. Calls to other users of the service, are free while calls to other landlines and mobile phones can be made for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transfer and video conferencing. wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype
  • 3. Today: Instant messages. Audio calls. Video calls. Conference calls. File transfers.
  • 4. Phone Book / Contacts Web Cam
  • 5. Adding contacts. Be careful when adding contacts. Narrow your search. Make sure you know the person before accepting their friend request.
  • 6. Instant Message. Click on your contact and then on the IM icon. Type your message. When you press return the message will be displayed on the top screen. This is where you can view your discussion. You can also invite others to your discussion.
  • 7. Audio Calls. You and your contact must have a microphone. Open discussion so anyone can hear. Click on contact then on phone.
  • 8. Video Calls Click on phone and then on camera Try to look at the camera and not at the screen.
  • 9. Conference calls. Go to ‘Call’ then ‘Conference Call’. You will need to set rules about who is talking otherwise it can get confusing.
  • 10. File Transfer In message mode, click on send file. Choose file and send.
