Social bookmarking - allows users to share with others, or between computers, or on their websites without knowing how to program or build websites.
Yahoo purchased in 2005 - their robust “always on” system guarantees some redundancy in the services
186 bookmarks saved per minute
Perfect for libraries: quick, easy, robust, content rich - as good as you make it -- all about organization and details -- which you’re good at by nature
Different views: all, popular, recent, just mine, sortable, tags, top tags, date, more or less information
Tags are keywords - you control - best to set up ahead of time - dynamic
Bundles are groups of tags - ie. sdva bundle may include graphic design, photography, fine arts OR graphic design bundle may include graphics, photoshop, web design, etc.
Search can be micro or macro - search within your own, or search only your network, or search the entire database
networks allow you to communicate with other users (perfect for work groups) internally or externally - share with other campuses, libraries, institutions, faculty, students, or subject matter experts in the field - you share with them, they share with you
great for researching subjects - ie subscribe to photoshop tag to learn what’s new and interesting in the field. Stay current. Downfall is SO much content coming in for some areas (computers especially) not as much for others (logistics for example). Only as good as the users.
make up tags as you go for sharing - have a common prefix and work from there
bookmarklets sit in your browser and rather than linking to a page have a behavior. In this case, select text on page you want to bookmark, hit bookmarklet, and save to delicious automatically.
IE and firefox have plugins built to extend your workflow outside the delicious website. Save bookmark, search, tags, popularity, etc.

Automatic display by tag, all, or bundle on websites or in feeds
