  • An excellent presentation for 8th grade. I like the proper use of language and details. Students can take notes if needed and saves you from writing it on the board when asked. Thank you.

  • sorry to point out, there are far too many words used. You don't need correct grammar in Powerpoint presentations. The aim is to convey the key words. For example 'Class Rules' - you don't need the word 'are'. 'Contact me' - you don't need 'How to'. The more white space there is, the easier it is for people to understand your message. Overall, there is too much clutter on this presentation.

  2. 2. Welcome to 8th Grade Math!<br />8th grade is a great year being the oldest grade on campus.<br />It can be a difficult year too because of more intense classes. <br />Coursework is more demanding.<br />

All About Me<br />My background<br />I grew up in Robinson and graduated from here. <br />I attended Schreiner College and played basketball.<br />I graduate from Baylor with both my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees. <br />My experience<br />I’ve been teaching for over 20 years.<br />I have taught and coached in the JH for the last 12 years.<br />

  7. 7. Class rules are:<br />The rules are the same for every class. <br />They were presented to you yesterday. “we am …….”<br />Being a successful student in the classroom requires hard work, practice, and following the rules just like it does in athletics.<br />
  8. 8. GradingPolicy<br />Grades are divided into 3 categories.<br />Homework & Classwork – 25%<br />Test & Projects – 50%<br />Quizzes – 25%<br />

Corrections<br />Papers are returned on Fridays<br />Corrections are due on the next Wednesday<br />You MUST write the problem and show all of your work or explain how you got the answer on a separate sheet of paper that you will staple to the back of the paper that you corrected. <br />You may correct any paper or quiz; test will be either corrected or a retest will be given. <br />
  10. 10. Assignment vs. Homework<br />I will make an assignment most every day. <br />If it is not finished in class, then it is homework. You will have homework a lot of the time in Algebra I.<br />It is due at the beginning of class the next day or stated due date.<br />If a student needs extra time help on an assignment, then he/she needs to set up a tutoring time as soon as possible.<br />
