  • 1. Creating a tasty brand with Delicious Links
  • 2. What is a brand? “ A brand is not a name or a logo. It is not a product, service or business. It is a promise, an expectation and ultimately an experience” 1 in other words, it’s your clients emotional experience of you, your business and your service. What’s your brand? What is your customers emotional experience? (1. www.aota.org/Brand/Brand.aspx)
  • 3. Just remind me, what’s your brand again? are you the expert? are you the technical whiz kid? are you the quiz master (or mistress)? do people trust you? can you be relied upon to deliver exactly what is needed? What knowledge can you share that makes it valuable for people to know you?
  • 4. Did you know this can help build a brand?
  • 5. What is social bookmarking? Remember when we all had a ‘favourites’ category on our web browser? That long list of sites that you want to return to quickly and easily. Social bookmarking  allows you to save these favourite websites (or bookmarks) to a social network instead. You can sort, tag, organise, share and access them anywhere you have a web connection. Note that word share ……! It’s important
  • 6. And why would I want to do that then? Loads of reasons actually ……. it increases the number of ways that people can find your website or articles search engines love them and will often index pages listed on them more quickly it shows how wonderful you are because you share your knowledge , demonstrates your expertise and showcases your skills building a resource library collaboratively becomes easier, share it or keep it private – it’s your choice it’s social , which means others can find your links, follow and recommend them
  • 7. Why delicious? Because I like it! Oh, and because ….. it ranks number 7 in most popular social bookmarking sites it’s easy to use it’s more business focused than the others (in my opinion) the links can’t be affected by other people you can share your bookmarks with Twitter
  • 8. But how do I build a brand ….?
    • you add links to your own stuff, like your website, blog or LinkedIn profile
    • you demonstrate your authority to talk about your market sector by linking to the sites you use for research
    • you work with your clients to find the information that they need to make business decisions and keep it handy
    • You share your knowledge (links) through status updates, answers, discussions and twitter
  • 9. So, what do I need to do? Adding an interesting article to your site and linking to it in Delicious = Lots of happy people who can now read your excellent information
  • 10. Will it work for my business? Well, that depends on YOU …… decide what you want to achieve and why decide what subjects to focus on keep it updated and organised let people know it’s there
