  1. 1. SOLO Taxonomy<br />South Taranaki Principal’s Cluster Initiative.<br />
  2. 2. Focus: To shift pedagogical approaches teachers are using to promote student learning.<br />SOLO Taxonomy will be unpacked across the cluster as a strategy for promoting student learning. <br />
  3. 3. Baseline Data: Cluster = 13 schools.<br />8 responded to initial survey<br />

  5. 5. Generic Comments from Baseline Data<br /><ul><li>Workshop on practical implementation will be useful.
  6. 6. Visits to schools will be beneficial to see SOLO in action.
  7. 7. Just at the start of a long journey.
  8. 8. PD will be essential to implement this successfully in our school.
  9. 9. We are largely focused on literacy and numeracy and our involvement in SOLO has been minimal. This does not mean we do not support the initiative, it means we have other priorities at this time.
  10. 10. Enjoying the PD and hope to plan for inclusion in 2012.

  14. 14. 6 schools are using the resource “The Big Event”</li></li></ul><li>SOLO in Action across the Cluster from Uni-Structural to Extended Abstract.<br />Normanby School: Unistructural<br />Each class dabbling with SOLO within the context of their programmes. Personal choice. Some using rubrics, some using concept maps.<br />

Some school have been active in organising ToD being facilitated by Pam Hook or Julie Mills.</li></li></ul><li>South Taranaki Cluster is excited that all schools and students have begun their journey with SOLO.<br />We look forward to further implementation in 2012 and beyond.<br />It is through the support of Massey University ‘s Network learning Community, that has made this journey possible.<br />
