    • Humble Beginnings “Hello everybody out there using minix — I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones..” Free Unix! “Starting this Thanksgiving I am going to write a complete Unix-compatible software system called GNU (for Gnu's Not Unix), and give it away free(1) to everyone who can use it. Contributions of time, money, programs and equipment are greatly needed”.
    • The Open Compute Message Hello everybody out there consuming hardware— We are doing a (free) project that allows anyone to design hardware to support specific workloads. This won’t be gratuitously differentiated like the incumbents are selling. We’d like any feedback on things people like / dislike about what’s available to them today as our project resembles those offerings somewhat.....
