Google Authorship - How To Google Authorship - How To Presentation Transcript

    • Setting up Google Authorship A quick guide for all (no techie skills required!)From Neil Sisson @Lime Canvas: http://www.limecanvas.com
    • Step 1 – Login to Google+
    • Step 2 – Edit “Contributor to”
    • Step 3 – Add the URL to your blog
    • 1st Part Complete!Congratulations, you have completed the first part of setting up Authorship. You will no doubt be delighted to learn that that was the hard part if you areusing WordPress. The next slides in this presentation will outline how to complete the 2nd part ofthis process on WordPress. For anybody silly enough to not be using WordPress for their website/blog/CMS,you will need to somehow add the following code to your posts and articleswhere you want to claim Authorship:<rel=”author” link=”your-googlplus-url” />
    • Part 2, Step 1 – Login to wp-admin After logging in to your Dashboard, you will need to click on Users and then on Your Profile
    • Part 2, Step 2 – Update your profile
    • Part 2, Step 2 – A CaveatIn order for this to work and be this simple you MUST have one of the following pluginsinstalled:Click Here To Jump to this on the WP Codex
    • Part 2, Step 2 – A CaveatOR:Click Here To Jump to this on the WP Codex
    • Part 2, Step 3 – Rejoice!Once you’ve saved your profile with G+ information included you arecompletely done, assuming you have one of the two afore mentioned SEOplugins installed. If you haven’t, then you really should have which is why I included links in thelast two slides. Personally I would recommend Yoast’s SEO plugin over All-in-one but the latter works fine too and is a little bit less technical.(common sense would dictate that the less you have to do the less the resultsof your actions – bear this in mind when choosing which plugin suits you best) Just one last thing…
