• A new non-governmental organisation, EHYT ry, was founded on
1.1.2012 as three independent NGO’s merged into one.
(Elämä On Parasta Huumetta ry & Elämäntapaliitto &
Terveys ry).
• Ehkäisevä päihdetyö EHYT ry is a nationwide NGO aiming to
improve and promote healthier lifestyle among the Finnish
people in all ages.
• EHYT ry is now the largest preventive substance abuse NGO in
Finland. Besides working to prevent problems related to alcohol,
smoking and drug abuse EHYT ry also aims to prevent gaming and
gambling problems.
• EHYT ry believes that education can be fun. New information is
absorbed more easier through entertainment, edutainment.
Instead of one-way lectures, the games allow repetition and
interaction in a playful form.

5. IRC-Galleria
• IRC-Galleria (Finnish for "IRC gallery") was founded in
2000 and is currently the largest social networking
website in Finland with half a million registered users.
• IRC-Galleria is officially open to anyone who is over 12
years old and speaks Finnish. Most of the users are aged
between 13 and 22, with the mean age being about 20
years.
• Ehyt (former EOPH) hosts a community called Elämä On
Parasta Huumetta (“Life is the Best Drug”) on the gallery
website.
• In autumn 2007 EOPH begun to run a theme week once a
month in IRC-galley. A theme week includes
questionnaires, information, competitions and chat
discussions with specialists on a preset theme such as
alcohol, drugs, self-destructive thoughts, domestic
violence or addictions. Members can prepare themselves
to a chat room discussion with questionnaires and
information packs.
6. DEMI.FI
• A commercial website for young
girls originating from a fashion
magazine of the same name,
Demi. The target group for the
site are 12-19 year old girls.
• On demi.fi a registered user can
up/download photos and
comment & discuss with others.
• EHYT ry started to work at Demi.fi
in 2010. Theme discussions on a
platform unit (not chat) every
second Tuesday at 6-8 pm.
7. Vauva.fi
”baby.fi”
• A popular commercial website
(originating from a magazine of the
same name Vauva ) with more
than 100 000 unique visitors weekly.
• EHYT ry started to run theme
discussions on vauva.fi in 2011 every
second Thursday at 2-3:30 pm. Themes
are related to topics such as drugs,
pregnancy and family.
8. Habbon Hubu-bussi (the Hubu bus in
Habbo)
• “Habbo”, www.habbo.fi , is a virtual world for
children and teens. EOPH employees have guided
and participated in educational chat-room
discussions on Habbo with teenagers on substance
abuse prevention since 2002. Using the Habbo
website, EOPH has been able to reach 10-15 years
old Finnish children by meeting them in a space
where they like to spend their leisure time. The
virtual “Hubu” bus is located in “Habbo Park”.
• A chat lasts about 20 minutes and can
accommodate nine teenagers at a time. EHYT ry
supports the discussions by using the Hubu®
method (questionnaire). The teenagers can engage
in private conversations with employees whenever
they need to. Moreover, EHYT ry organises
regularly theme days on topics in which the
teenagers are interested.
• The chat visitors decide the topic of the chat.
Topics are related to issues of health, relationships
and dating, hobbies, home and school.
