Why you should visit Biblical's library Why you should visit Biblical's library Presentation Transcript

  • Why you should visit Biblical’s library.
(And not just because we sometimes have free cake.)
Biblical Theological Seminary Library | 2011-2012
  • We have books…
    • More than 40,000!
    • Including everything you’ll need for your classes
    • You can check them out for up to 3 weeks
    • (But you can renew them for another 3 weeks if you do it before they’re due!)
  • A wide variety of journals…
    • Dating back to 1798
    • Roughly 200 current subscriptions
    • Several article databases:
    • ATLASerials online (info)
    • OCLC Electronic Collections Online (info)
    • PsychARTICLES(info)
    • DVDs
    • (Including the Nooma series)
    • CDs
    • VHS Tapes
    • An extensive collection of lectures on cassette tapes
    • More databases!
…And a host of other resources.
  • And if we don’t have what you’re looking for…
…we can hook you up with someone who does.
    • Through interlibrary loans (ILL@biblical.edu)
    • Library consortia SEPTLA and TCLC
    • Via WorldCat, local public libraries
    • Available on the computers in the computer lab and the bound periodical room
    • Wireless and Ethernet for laptops
We also offer free internet access…
  • Not to mention a few other things:
    • Express checkout (for when you’re in a hurry)
    • For $0.25 per item, have your books waiting for you at the desk: just email your order at least an hour in advance (libraryexpress@biblical.edu)
    • Coffee (and tea) bar
    • Used book sale
  • But wait, there’s more!
    • The library blog lists changes to our hours and information on new books
