  4. 4. Blue question 3 <br />When can I come to the library?<br />You are welcome in the library during an English class with your teacher or during break or before or after school<br />
  5. 5. Blue question 4 <br />What kind of things will we be doing in the library?<br />Sometimes you will be learning how to find out information<br />Sometimes you will be reading<br />
  6. 6. Yellow question 1<br />How are the books arranged?<br />There are 3 main areas for books in the library<br />Reading Oasis<br />General Fiction<br />Non-Fiction<br />
  7. 7. READING OASIS<br />This is where we keep the <br />GRADED READERS<br />
  8. 8. Yellow Question 2<br />How do I know which level I should read?<br />On the wall of the Reading Oasis is a poster with examples of each reading level. <br />
  9. 9. NON-FICTION<br />These are the books which give you <br />INFORMATION<br />about lots of different subjects<br />
  10. 10. REFERENCE<br />Reference books are a special kind of non-fiction book<br />
  11. 11. GENERAL FICTION<br />This is where we keep fiction books that haven’t been given a grade and the magazines you can borrow<br />
  12. 12. Red question 1<br />How do I find my way around the library?<br />
  13. 13. Red question 2 <br />How many things can I borrow at one time?<br />You can borrow:<br />3 books for 2 weeks <br />1 DVD for 3 nights <br />1 magazine for 1 week <br />But no more than 5 items<br /> at a time<br />
  14. 14. Red question 3 <br />Will I need my ID card to borrow things?<br />Yes, we need to know your <br />student number when you <br />check out items from the library<br />
  15. 15. Red question 4 <br />What if I don’t bring the stuff back on time?<br />No, we don’t hang you out to dry BUT, we will send you 2 reminders and if you still don’t bring the stuff back, we will take the cost out of your allowance!!!!!!<br />
  16. 16. Green question 1 <br />How do I get help in the library?<br />Easy --- Just ASK<br />It’s my job to help you<br />
  17. 17. Green question 2<br />What makes librarians REALLY angry?<br />Eating and drinking<br />Loud talkers<br />Chewing Gum<br />Seeds<br />CHEWING GUM<br />LOUD TALKERS<br />
  18. 18. Green question 3<br />Does the library have a website?<br />We have a page on the IAT intranet which has links to lots of useful websites<br />
  19. 19. AND I have a blog at librarianiatdxb.edublogs.org which shows lots of work done by IAT students <br />
