    The reason it is important to understand how information comes out on topics is to reinforce the ideas that the amount of good scholarly information that is available on a particular topic is due, in part, to the timeframe involved. It helps students to understand that if the paper calls for books and journal articles then they can’t pick a topic that is just now in the news.
