    STaR stands for School Technology and Readiness.
    “The Texas Teacher STaR Chart is designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, as well as meeting the goals of their district” (http://starchart.esc12.net/history.html)

  • 4. How will the Texas STaR Chart help me as a Teacher?
    It is a way to gauge the teacher’s progress in integrating technology into teaching and learning
    Provide data that can support the need for grants or other resources
    Determine funding priorities based on teacher and classroom needs
    Assist teachers in determining professional development needs based on a current educational technology profile

    Surveys, consisting of 24 responses, are conducted campus-wide
    The surveys are compiled to create the Texas STaR Chart for each campus/district

    Totals: 6-8 Early Tech 9-14 Developing Tech 15-20 Advanced Tech 21-24 Target Tech
  • 8. Final Thoughts
    The Texas STaR Chart is vital to our school receiving state-funding for technology.
    ‘Educator Preparation & Development’ is still in the ‘Developing Tech’ classification…all others have an ‘Advanced Tech’ classification.
    Continue working toward the common goal of ‘Target Tech’!!!
