Slide 15: Board Goals 5. Staffing and Professional Development District staff will work collegially to build the capacity of teachers and administrators to meet the needs of 21st century learners. 7. Technology The Board of Education and district staff, while recognizing budgetary constraints, will ensure resources are in place to responsibly integrate technology throughout all aspects of the school district. Approved December 14, 2006 by the Board of Education

Slide 19: Day-to-Day Technology Tasks • Technology support for entire district – Over 400 trouble tickets submitted since August 2007 – Repair equipment – Remove obsolete equipment • Communication – Email follow-ups – Updating of Web sites • Software and Hardware Maintenance – Over 500 desktops – Over 75 laptops – Various other equipment (servers, switches, cameras, projectors, etc.) • Planning – Prioritizing • Training • Shared equipment distribution

Slide 21: Professional Development Training • Use of updated grade book software • Use of Edline at elementary schools • Prepared and ran Summer Tech Institute with 7 different sessions for 60 faculty / staff members • Trained support staff on Word / Excel

Slide 30: What did the students learn? \"At what cost?\" is a question often heard in the world today and will be heard more often as time goes on. It is a question that everyone should consider, but a more important question is: \"What am I going to do about it?\" - Ray L. When will people realize that in few decades greenhouse gases have increased 60%. When you burn fossil fuels, such as oil, this releases huge amounts of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. It is said that CO2 is the main gas responsible for Global Warming. When will people finally see that we cause Global Warming, but that we can easily stop it? . . . - Devon T.
Slide 31: Igniting Technology Literacy • Configured TurnItIn for HS • Printers and scanners installed for all 4th and 5th grade classrooms • Implemented open-source learning management system (MOODLE) • Began piloting lessons / classes on MOODLE • Implemented monthly technology newsletter for faculty / staff
