    • © 2014 IBM Corporation22 Our Best Promotion for our loyal Notes/Domino customers... Bridge to Cloud [B2C]
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation ★HOT★ The “Bridge to IBM SmartCloud” Renewal Option • Customers are exploring the cloud for e-mail as well as other workloads – collaboration, social business, etc. • For e-mail, IBM has historically offered “traditional” on-premises part numbers with maintenance for client access licenses (CALs), as well as SaaS subscription part numbers for customers moving to the cloud • “Bridge to IBM SmartCloud” allows a customer to switch from on-premises Notes CALs to SmartCloud Notes subscriptions at renewal time, keeping the same entitlements whether they stay on-prem or move to IBM SmartCloud • Domino server licensing remains as-is (customers transitioning to the cloud will not need to renew Domino messaging servers in subsequent years)
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation A: There is no requirement that the customer has to move any users to the IBM SmartCloud. This licensing option simply allows customer to move some or all users to the IBM SmartCloud for email if they so desire, but is only available at the time of renewal. A: The customer can continue to renew each year with this option with no penalty for staying on-prem. The SmartCloud Notes subscriptions will renew at the same price as the previous year, and includes full entitlement for the Notes CAL as well as additional Domino servers for hybrid configuration (if needed). A: No, support for the Notes client remains unchanged. A: IBM has a number of proven steps to assist customers (for free) – See Resources section! FAQs on the “Bridge to IBM SmartCloud” Renewal Option Q: Is there a requirement for the customer to move users to the IBM SmartCloud for email within a certain time period, or at all? Q: What happens at the next renewal if the customer does not move any or all users to the IBM SmartCloud? Q: Does support change for the Notes client? Q: If we take this renewal option, how can IBM help us determine if and how we move to the cloud?
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation Summary: Benefits of “Bridging to the Cloud” at Renewal Time • Lock in to a SmartCloud Notes client subscription price that will auto renew at the current year price (no surprises). Yearly savings! • Gives customers additional entitlement to move some or all users to IBM SmartCloud for Social Business, if they decide to do so over the next renewal period • No need to pay for any additional Domino server licenses to configure a hybrid environment • Realize additional cost savings by moving end users to the cloud • Talk to your IBM Rep about adding SmartCloud Engage Advanced
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation Deploying IBM SmartCloud Notes … in less than 4 hrs!!! Configure Domino environment ● Configure Passthru server ● Generate required OU Certifier - Mail01/Cloud/ORG, Mail02/Cloud/ORG Configure SmartCloud Notes Hybrid ● Run the Hybrid Pre-Configuration Tool ● Run Domain Configuration Tool ● Verify Ownership of your Domain ● Hybrid Account Activation Complete SmartCloud Notes configuration ● Issue vault trust certificate ● Configure Mail file templates ● Configure instant messaging
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation What do I do with my existing Domino Apps?
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation Applications: Modernize them using XPages Based on Open Standards: ● XML ● Java, JavaScript ● JSF ● HTML(5), CSS, Dojo Modern Development ● Reusable components ● Contemporary skills ● Version Control Interface ● Vibrant community ● Extensible APU Compatibility ● Co-exsistence with classic Notes ● Declarative security ● Inclusion of other storage models (e.g. RDBMS)
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation Applications: XPages
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation Mobile Apps: XPages & Responsive Design
    • © 2014 IBM Corporation31 Applications: Notes Browser Plug-in Designed to easily extend applications previously available only to Notes users out to web browser users, as well Provides a powerful compliment to existing XPages capabilities Allows applications to run in a browser with no modification! Lightweight install, similar to other plug-ins in size, deployment time and configuration requirements Minimal limitations: ● Windows only (for now, at least!) ● Not designed to support mail template, rather, to work in conjunction with iNotes ● Firefox and Internet Explorer along with Citrix Licensing: Enterprise CAL, CEO Communications, Collaboration Express BOTTOM LINE: “...the beauty of this is for the users who want to use iNotes and could not access their apps before. This solution is for them and not for someone who wants to use the plug-in instead of the standard Client with a lower footprint...” – Raj P.
