General Guidelines<br />High school style (not adult), think yearbook picture<br />Tended to be dresses all the time (jeans/pants only for casual)<br />Time period: roughly 1959-1962<br />Think Father Knows Best, Donna Reed Show, Dobie Gillis, Ozzie & Harriet, Leave It To Beaver<br />All were on TV at this time and have teens<br />Focus on simple pieces, solid colors<br />

  4. 4. Most girls and teens owned at least one jumper whose look could be altered by varying the blouse underneath.<br />Even little girls had to wear the starchy petticoats. And when dressed up for church, wore little white gloves.<br />Fancier fabrics, fuller skirts for party dresses.<br />

  6. 6. Two options – big and full or pencil. Always below the knee.<br />Pair with a wide belt for the right look.<br />
