  • 1. Indian Knoll Elementary School Media Center September 2011 Report Program Highlights The Reading Extravaganza was held in the media center. This event was organized to promote the guided reading room, to provide teachers with new ideas for teaching reading, and to begin conversations about best practices in reading instruction. The media center received a character education grant to purchase 35 new novel sets, which will be housed in the guided reading room. Twenty students attended one meeting of the Firebirds Book Club. The first meeting of the Indian Knoll Children’s Literature Book Club was held in the media center. The media specialist attended PD360 training. The media specialist received training in Mediacast, Sharepoint, and the front lobby kiosk. The media specialist updated the media center website, media center blog, and front lobby kiosk.
