  • 7. Key areas • Main areas within your work to reach your goals • Make a list of all activities / tasks that you are doing (brainstorm) • Group them on categories
  • 8. Key areas • Short tag name • Define an area, not an action • Include everything possible • Be unambiguous • Avoid overlapping • Concentrate on your responsibilities • Avoid the tag name “others” • Say “NO”
  • 9. Effectiveness Daily • To-do list (one place) ≠ inbox! • Start your day with an “elephant” task – Big task, overwhelming – Progress difficult to see – No immediate consequence • E-mails • Group similar tasks • Silence hour
  • 10. • Get rid of useless things • End of the day: clean desks, cups, inbox AND plan the next day • Meetings – Not too many – Not in the morning – Important ones first – Only the needed people – Meeting ≠ team building – 1 minute minutes
  • 11. • Phone calls – Keep them short, stand – At intervals (11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.) – No chit – chat – Agenda • Learn to say “NO” • Procrastination / deadlines • Interruptions – 6-9 minutes, 4-5 minute recovery – five interruptions shoots an hour – Reduce them! (e-mails, taking phones, work environment)
