Problems with Your Outlines

Slide 1: Outline Concerns Common mistakes we all need to avoid when making our rough draft!

Slide 2: Numbers  Spell out all numbers under 100  Exceptions:  Dates  1.5 Million  Technically, it’s more than 100!  Addresses (?)

Slide 3: Parenthetical Citations  Spaces after your quote / paraphrase / summary  …your paper(Lesh).  This is wrong  Punctuation on the OUTSIDE!!!  …your paper (Lesh)!

Slide 4: Sources:  Shorten the titles of articles  Bare minimum  Don’t use subtitles  You must use ALL SEVEN sources!!  Spread them out!  Yes, your interview is a source!

Slide 5: Finally,  Spread them out  No entire paragraphs from one source!  This is not research!  Multiple paragraphs from one source will be considered PLAGIARISM!  Please refer to class rules about plagiarism.
