  • Here we will look at creating a new PowerPoint presentation – first step is to use a design template and if you want to, change the colour scheme
  • For example if you are using PowerPoint for your presentation, you might have an introductory slide, then one for each source that for each source
  • Icons will appear in that section for you to select from. For example if you want to add an image, click on the image or picture icon and you will be given an option to select an image from clip art or import an image from your own files. To import, jst browse to the apporpriate place and then select the image that you require
  • Practice using the dots, fonts, font size colours etc.

    • 2. Slide layouts
      • Choose the layout that matches the information
      • Look at your balance of text with other content
    • 3. How to add images
      • If you have chosen a text and content layout you will be able to add all sorts of content in a separate section of the slide
      • Click on one of the icons to add that content
    • 4. Adding coloured fonts, dot points, numbered points, etc
      • As PowerPoint is a Microsoft application the standard tool bar icons have the same functionality
    • 5. Adding hyperlinks
      • To add a hyperlink, use a web browser like internet explorer to locate the site
      • Return to PowerPoint and highlight the text
      • Click on Insert, then click on hyperlink
      • Toggle back to the site you want
      • Then toggle back to your PowerPoint presentation
      • Type in the text you want linked

        • Select shockwave object then close the control box
        • Draw size of viewing space
        • Right click in viewing space and select properties
        • Ensure embed movie option is false

      • Remember to save your presentation and often

        • Click in the left hand menu and highlight the slide that comes after the slide you want to add then click on new slide in the tool bar or Insert new slide
      • To edit slides
        • Double click on the slide you want to edit

      • Click on view slide show
      • Left click through each of the slides
      • Right click and end show to stop
