Regular Verb Tenses

  1. 2. <ul><li>When the subject is he, she, or it, add s to the verb. </li></ul><ul><li>When the subject is I, you, we, or they, do not add s to the verb . </li></ul><ul><li>Verbs that end in s, x, z, ch, or sh add es . </li></ul><ul><li>With verbs that end in y and have a consonant before it, change the y to i and add es . </li></ul>run- He run s. She run s. The dog run s. I cry. You run. We read. They study. watch- watch es He watch es TV at night. cry- cr i es The baby cries so much! PRESENT TENSE
  2. 3. REMEMBER… <ul><li>When the subject is the third person singular ( he, she, it ), use the verb in the s form : </li></ul><ul><li>begins Ex: The class begins at 9:00 o’clock. </li></ul><ul><li>walks José walks to the train station. </li></ul>
