    2. 2. Webpage? Website? <ul><li>A webpage is a single page that may have links to other webpages, pictures, etc. </li></ul><ul><li>A website is made up of many webpages </li></ul>
    3. 3. Things you need to start <ul><li>AUP for school/Internet access </li></ul><ul><li>Your weebly account information </li></ul><ul><li>An idea for your webpage </li></ul><ul><ul><li>What is your topic? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>What is the purpose of the webpage? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Who is your audience? </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>What makes a webpage interesting? </li></ul></ul>

    5. 5. Access weebly.com <ul><li>Pass out account information </li></ul><ul><li>Write this information in your planner for future use </li></ul><ul><li>Open up an internet browser and go to the website: students.weebly.com and login </li></ul>
    6. 6. Choose a title for your site
    7. 7. This is your home page
    8. 8. Log out and log back in <ul><li>You only need to do this the first time </li></ul><ul><li>Note: logout </li></ul><ul><li>Note: edit site </li></ul>
    9. 9. Designing Your Webpage <ul><li>Click on “Design” </li></ul><ul><li>You can try the designs by moving your cursor over it </li></ul><ul><li>You can change it at any time </li></ul><ul><li>You can have different pictures for different pages </li></ul>

Select a Design <ul><li>Take the next few minutes and try it out. </li></ul><ul><li>Select a design template </li></ul><ul><li>When you select a design you should see a “loading” message (it appears and disappears quickly!). This means your choice has been saved on the weebly site </li></ul>
    11. 11. Click on the Tab “Elements” <ul><li>These are the basic ways to set up the areas to add text or pictures </li></ul><ul><li>Click and drag to white spaces </li></ul>
    12. 12. Try It! <ul><li>Drag the element you want to the white space </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the heading, text spaces </li></ul><ul><li>Type </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t forget to click outside the page to “load” </li></ul>
    13. 13. Other Features to Try <ul><li>When you type, another toolbar will appear </li></ul><ul><li>Use this toolbar to change font size, color, alignment and linking to other websites, pages, etc. </li></ul>
    14. 14. Multimedia Features <ul><li>You can click on Multimedia or “more” options to see how to enhance your page </li></ul><ul><li>Any item with “PRO” is not available </li></ul><ul><li>You Tube has to be added at home </li></ul>
    15. 15. Want to add a blog? <ul><li>Go to Page </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Add a blog </li></ul><ul><li>Name your page </li></ul><ul><li>It appears as a ‘page’ on your home page </li></ul>
    16. 16. Close v. Publish <ul><li>Always remember to “load” to save changes </li></ul><ul><li>Close = saved on weebly site </li></ul><ul><li>Publish = save so all the world can see </li></ul>
    17. 17. Ready to Publish? <ul><li>You need to have a couple of choices for URL (internet address names) </li></ul><ul><li>Weebly will let you know if the name has been taken </li></ul>

    19. 19. How to Logout of Weebly <ul><li>Don’t forget to click on the page to save. You will see the “load” message. </li></ul><ul><li>Close the page </li></ul><ul><li>Logout </li></ul>
    20. 20. Editing Page <ul><li>Open weebly.com to edit your page </li></ul><ul><li>Open your URL on another page - that is what the world sees </li></ul><ul><li>As you edit your page, “publish” it. Then open your URL page, ‘refresh’ the page and look at your changes </li></ul>
