  3. 3. Research Our Suspect: Danny Boyle For your given film – who was the production studio behind it? What type of films does this director make? What is an Independent film? How are they different from Hollywood? Look at advertising for 'Trance' Is this a Hollywood film? What conclusions can you draw about him?

The Detective approach – analysis & reading meaning to film Our suspect: Danny Boyle 'Clips for detective work' post on blog Shallow Grave (together) Work through the questions in your teams and present to the class Analysis means giving Meaning = purpose (what it is for/effect/clues etc) of metaphorical associations (ie Red = anger, passion) Capture the key frames that tell you what is going on/significant on your phones – make some notes
