  2. 2. 2 2 1. Markets are conversations. - This statement tells that whatever happens in the market is the result from different conversations around it. Without conversations the market will not work as it supposed to be. People interact to know different suggestions, reactions, and comments to know what is happening in the market and to know the trend of products and services being offered. By knowing the simplest of things in the market, it can make a big change to a person and to his/her company. Also, the conversation has to be precise and not dull looking, because people tend to ignore these kinds of conversations because it means nothing to them. Also the person in the market has to be prepared to talk to the consumers so he can ask depending on the needs of the consumer. The conversations will have slight twist depending on the person you are talking to, if it would be a child, you will have to speak gently and know the child’s suggestions and comments so that the child will not run away. If the person you are talking to is an adult, then you will have to talk maturely so that the other person will not think of the conversation as a trick or a scam. Making conversations really matters depending on the person you are talking to, depending on the occasion, and the situation. By bringing the exact or the closest topic the consumer want, they will tend to listen and give more feedback and you can improve the services of products you are offering by studying the feedback of the consumers. 2. Markets consist of human beings, not demographic sectors. - This statement tells that the markets are composed of people, not some kind of study or research where you will base your products or services through it. People need to interact so that they can know what is really going on and to know the trend. The research might be accurate and appealing, but residing only on study will help less. If people act up and do their own kind of marketing, it is going to be much better than the study because the study phases out, and if a new trend comes, people will research again about it and make lots of documents which will phase out in no time. Markets will grow if human beings are there to serve and to fulfill the needs and wants of consumers, no study can track each and every need and want of each individual and it will be dependent on the employees who will be there in the market. Also, dividing the research work and compiling it at the end will surely work, but actual surveys given to fill up by consumers will help in bigger scale, since by surveys, the companies can know the feedback in real time and know the trend. Relying on study will not make the company future proof if a new trend comes. If other company released a product depending on the trend faster than your company, it will be a big fall for your company because you relied on the research which becomes obsolete.

They are conducted in a human voice. - This statement tells that if conversations among human are given much priority than any survey or research, it will be accurate and the company will receive more feedback. Conversations are meant to be in person for the maximum effect, if surveys are given out and people will just fill in the blanks, it won’t do much, since people will write anything they want, and care less about the products, especially if it’s a new product. If the consumers were to talk with, they will usually tell the truth because conversations are effective in a way that other person will feel comfortable in any situation. If the employee talks to a consumer, the consumer will feel that he/she is being prioritized and will give more details in return. Also, if continuous reaction between employees and consumers occur, the effect will be great; those people will come back to your store and can even recommend to their friends and family. Also, they will become your loyal customers and eventually buy most of your products thus increasing the trust between the company and the consumers. Also, to maintain the kind of trust between consumers and company, the company should release products or offer services depending on the consumers’ needs and wants, the consumers won’t buy products which have no use to them. Feedback is a must to maintain the relationship between company and consumers, by having a feedback, company will be updated of what most of their loyal customers and not so loyal customers want. 4. Whether delivering information, opinions, perspectives, dissenting arguments or humorous asides, the human voice is typically open, natural, uncontrived. - This statement means that the human voice is the key to communicate efficiently. When we express or show our knowledge, we tend to say things freely rather than making things up. This statement also means that the reactions towards different kinds of scenarios is also part of the human behavior, since humans have emotions from which they express their feelings, if in any conversation a weird or different kind of reaction would come up, it is justifiable. We need to think before saying anything to other person so that the other person will not be shocked or feel embarrassed thus making a troublesome scenario for both of the parties involved. Having conversation means like opening up what you feel or think about the certain product or anything. You have the freedom to say anything you want but you have to keep in mind the feelings of the other person because he/she might feel ignored or not important. If saying a lie or cover up story in a conversation might occur, you have to go with the flow because the other person might know that he/she is being fooled and might ignore you. In the scenario of employee and customer in a store, the employee can actually know if the customer is saying truth or lie because of the expression and the tone of his/her voice. People tend to say lie in different scenarios just to get over with the situation, but these kinds of actions actually brings more problems than benefits.
  4. 4. 4 4 5. People recognize each other as such from the sound of this voice. - This statement means that in communication, we express our thoughts freely and in good way. The voices mean that each and every person is unique; they have different sound and can express their thoughts and feeling in different manners. Every day we hear different kinds of voices and sounds, we tend to think if those voices are the real one coming from the person himself or just pretending. In market, we need to express the real thoughts instead fooling other person into buying the said product, which can result in conflict. In doing business, we need to say the real thing, we have to act up and say what is really going on just to stabilize the business and make it last longer than anyone else’ business. If we hear the voice of other person and we think that voice is the true tone coming out, we tend to listen and think about it again and again, it’s like making an impact. We need voice in business so everyone can know what is going on and what will happen in near future, we cannot just command and give orders to anyone without voice; it will be like talking to no one since we cannot express ourselves freely. The voice is unique in every individual, the voice also makes difference when talking to bunch of people, because if you speak loud and clear, people will listen and give feedback because they will think that you are confident and saying the truth, thus increasing the value and reputation of the company. 6. The Internet is enabling conversations among human beings that were simply not possible in the era of mass media. - This statement means that the internet has helped us in a big scale. Through internet, we can now talk to someone who is on the other side of the world. Also, the communication is very fast and reliable. We can call anyone through internet without paying anything. The world now has adopted internet as one of the “needs” of everyone and cannot live without it. If internet would be gone from our lives, our state as human beings will return to its old self where internet was not known. Through internet, the businesses and small companies have gotten lot of benefits, and even the common people who have internet at home from where they can access any website they want and can chat or call anyone they want. We, human beings, have already made internet and technology part of our lives and cannot live without it. The internet has helped us students in role of research; we can now search for anything at home, instead going to library or other places. The internet is also the library for e-books, thousands of books can be fitted in just a 3.5” metal disk instead of putting a library for thousands of books where lot of space will be consumed thus decreasing the convenience. The internet has become global, we can now express ourselves freely and talk to anyone with no danger, our communication and social skills have gotten better because of the internet. The internet has given us the opportunity to express our thoughts freely to the world without having to go outside.
  5. 5. 5 5 7. Hyperlinks subvert hierarchy. - This statement means that the hyperlinks bypass the institution’s control. But not always, since the hyperlinks are used in webpages, it directs you to other page and opens a new content. It is just basically another people homepage we are visiting, other people controls the website and change the content whenever they want for other people to see. These links are like connections in real world, one link directs us to another, and the another link directs us to more links, it is like connections in real world in terms of group of people, when we get into a group, we are in a different place, like in the websites, then we tend to know more about the group and they can link us to other people if there is something we think might be interesting. In websites, these links or pages must be managed from time to time, because the trend changes in internet so fast, we need to compete with trend and or be ahead of it so we can gain advantages instead or loss. But these links sometimes brings the users to unwanted websites, websites which are basically for scam or have malicious program which can spread into your machine, these websites are like some people in reality, there are lots of scammers in real world by which they persuade other people in return for a greater value. There are also hackers in real world which are basically the thieves, in the internet, those are the information stealers from which they can sell to other people or use it for own personal reasons. 8. In both internetworked markets and among intranetworked employees, people are speaking to each other in a powerful new way. - This statement means that the new era of communication has begun. People now have more understand of different things than the past. People now tend to find different ways of communication for convenience. Since internet is of huge scale, it will be much difficult to find a person, that’s why the intranet is there to compile those who are in a same company or group for them to communicate and share different ideas easily, and of course, it will be private into that group. In market, we use internet so that we can know the prices and different information about the products, and we use intranet for specific groups of people to interact. Intranet is there for specific people in a company to share info rather than the information to leak because of internet which might make issues to the specific company. We need to be connect to other groups of people so that we will be updated to the happenings in the world, since the trend is changing rapidly, we need to step up just to be in the level of other so that we can have feedback from them and bring success to our company. When we interact with other people, we do not watch to get distracted or interfered, that’s why there are different types of applications and ways on how to follow this technique. If the company uses intranet within their facility, it will be much better for them because the data transfer will be fast and secure.

These networked conversations are enabling powerful new forms of social organization and knowledge exchange to emerge. - This statement means that the more network conversations are being used, the more forms of type of social organizations are formed, because people always find a way to make different kinds of topics and such for them and other to do something in past time or for their own personal work. These new forms are there to aware other people also that we should not limit ourselves to the things being offered to us, we should always think different ways and do different things from which we can gain benefits and help others as well. Also, we need to exchange ideas with each other so that we can give information to others and also receive information from others in that way, the bond will be there and from that you can help each other. By doing these kinds of acts, it can save time and money; also you can gain more friends and trust. If we were to find different ways to talk to other people and gain information, we can also utilize the same aspect in our business so that whole bunch of people will also benefit and can benefit also the company in return. By using different kinds of techniques in conversations, we also gain knowledge on how to deal with different people, like if the person you are talking to is serious, and then you have to be serious and talk like professionally rather than amateur. By doing these simple things, we can actually gain more respect and knowledge that we never thought of. 10. As a result, markets are getting smarter, more informed, more organized. Participation in a networked market changes people fundamentally. - This statement means that the markets these days are fast, the traditional ways of marketing is losing and the new trend of marketing is taking place. The markets these days are always aware of what might happen if they update or bring new products, or even service, they use research and tools by which they can know the future of the business if the same thing goes on and on. Back then, internet was not available to everyone, that’s why people were having trouble flowing with the trend and the new products and services offered, now the internet has spread all over, people are aware and being informed about the latest happenings all over the place and world. Markets are organized in a way that they form groups or sectors in each and every section of company just to make the process easier and continuous. Markets have become smarter in a way that they are finding different ways just to release their products to consumers and for the consumers to actually believe the products power. Also, participating in the market also helps the consumers, because they can be aware of the new released products of the specific company and can know the best deals immediately. Marketing should be straight to the point and must be appropriate for every audience, because everyone will be there to criticize the product and to know the difference of the products to other products. It is best to say the truth in marketing rather than fooling the customers just to get their money instead of trust and loyalty.

So much for corporate rhetoric about adding value to commoditized products. - This statement means that by using the technology, people are always up to date, employees are getting benefits, and also the consumers get benefits. Because everyone is putting information on the internet, it is much easier to find details and prices of products than going to a store. Also, by using internet, people can send feedback to the companies or the sellers much faster and can communicate with no problem. By using the internet, people are comfortable because the transaction is faster, secure and reliable. Also, by using the internet, people gets experience on how to deal with online market and they can use some of the tricks of their own just to meet their standards. We just can’t rely solely on the vendors, because sometimes they trick the consumers just to sell their products, but by using internet, we can share our knowledge and experiences so that we can know what is really going on and what to do in such scenarios. By using the technologies we have, we can be aware of the happenings around us and we can react fast even on any situation. Customers want cheap products, also the reliability and trust for the company, that’s why they research and ask their friends and family members about the products they will be buying. By using internet, we will be aware of the recent prices and trends, because of the vast information in the internet, customers have different varieties of choices and prices from which they can choose. 12. There are no secrets. The networked market knows more than companies do about their own products. And whether the news is good or bad, they tell everyone. - This statement means that the use of internet is almost like a need for a better understanding of products and its prices. Sometimes the vendors and advertisements by the companies tell lies, but by the use of internet, we can know the advantages and disadvantages of the products, because we can share knowledge and thoughts of the said products to the other users on the internet. Networked markets usually bring offers like discounts and other special promos for the users to take advantage. By having these promos, the consumers are somewhat forced to buy those products, forced by their own will. Sometimes companies don’t know that their products are having negative effects on people, and those people who are having those negative effects tell usually to their friends first than the companies, this is where the downfall of company usually begins, and they forget to get feedback for the consumers. Those companies think that they have research about their product and can sell directly to the consumers without having to test it. By using the internet technology, information can be shared easily, blogs are written to share thoughts and experiences, forums are there for users to interact on any topic they like, sometimes, people start their own website just to inform about anything they like. If companies start to focus more on feedback and customer satisfaction, they have to monitor those customers and products from time to time because they are the key for the big and small businesses to grow.

A metaphysical construct called "The Company" is the only thing standing between the two. - This statement means that the behavior and skills shown in the market is almost same as the skills of employees. Also, whatever is happening to the state of the market, whether gain or lose, the employees are affected, since they are the front men of the companies to reach the outside world. The company in this statement means the organization as a whole, employees work in companies to gain something in return, also, the companies need employees to reach the outside world or the markets, for them to work together, they have to know the good and bad effects of each other and need to learn how to bypass those effects. There must be a way on how companies treat their employees, the conversations must be smooth and open for everyone to be aware about the situation. If the companies treat their workers or employees in a good way, they employees will treat other people in market the same way, they are taught to act professionally. And if the companies don’t treat the employees in a good way, the employees will take revenge by bringing loss to the company by drawing the customers far from the company. Also, employees are human beings, if they are not treated equally, they will not work well because they know that they are not important. Sometimes companies also control the employees in a brute fashion, they tend to hold the freedom of employees and turn them into robots that will follow their leaders at any time. 14. Corporations do not speak in the same voice as these new networked conversations. To their intended online audiences, companies sound hollow, flat, literally inhuman. - This statement means that the style of corporations is very old. They tend to ignore the comments and suggestions from their customers. Their work is old fashioned. They don’t understand the power and the convenience they can have if they use the technology and give focus to their customers. The companies always think of the money and the benefits they will have in return, they always forget the customers who are the main objective of the business, greed is always in front row for the businesses, by letting greed take control, they forget the essence of doing business and making their customers the top priority. The companies always target the specific amount of people instead of all, example of this would be the expensive clothes, the companies will sell clothes in expensive amount for rich people, but the poor people will be left behind, the companies don’t think outside the box, they always have definite amount of knowledge about their business and it stays that way until the end. Their way of thinking doesn’t change. Feedback from online audience is reliable and easier, since there are many systems to record the feedback and make a data out of it, the companies don’t go the easier way. Sometimes, the feedback from companies is almost vague. If companies would build business in internet, they will have to act and transact normally and let the customers feel that they are being focus and heard. In that way, the customers will give more feedback about the products and even suggest making the products better.

In just a few more years, the current homogenized "voice" of business—the sound of mission statements and brochures—will seem as contrived and artificial as the language of the 18th century French court. - This statement means that if the companies’ way of work will still remain the same, they will have no place for business in future. Because the old way of work and the new trend is far from each other, the new trend means using technologies, internet, and unique way of delivering the information to customers, but the old way is placing some ads, and going to the store just to buy. If companies will do that same trick these years, they will be out from competition in no time, since they don’t follow the trend and be updated on what’s going on. This is the age of technology, the age of internet, customers are waiting for the companies to release their products online and give more information about it, but companies are sticking to their old lousy ways of advertising it. Companies don’t care about the customers want, all they need is money. They always think of profit, I admit that profit is every business’ goal, but thinking about profit and just ignoring the people wants and needs is just absurd. Customers should be the priority of all companies because if the customers are satisfied, the money will come automatically. By using internet as the voice of companies, thousands or millions of people will see your products and eventually buy if it suits them. Companies just need to change the way they deal with their customers and the market for them to gain trust and loyalty of their customers. 16. Already, companies that speak in the language of the pitch, the dog-and-pony show, are no longer speaking to anyone. - This statement means that the companies are somewhat ignoring the people’s comments and feedback, or maybe they just can’t relate to the people’s thinking or their needs. The companies which consists of employees, high official members, machines, etc… they maybe are having difficult time reaching to their audience because the companies are being left behind in terms of communication skills, they think that old ways of reaching their customers are enough already to satisfy the company and the customers. But there are great companies who focus on their customers, they needs and wants of their customers, they show to their customers that they are being heard. Companies now use internet to reach their customers, making twitter accounts, facebook, and other social networking sites. By using these kinds of sites, customers can freely suggest or comment on the company’s services and products, and those companies can immediately be informed and can do something about it immediately for them to gain more profit and decrease the loss. Companies use these sites also for advertisements so that their products will be online and for millions of people to see and comment. Companies need to change their style of selling products from time to time; they need to follow the technology or trend that is being used now. Sometimes, the advertisements are somewhat wrong in terms of the features or the advantages of the said product, maybe the companies are fooling the people. In order for the companies to reach their customers, they need to make a move immediately before they are being dominated by the competing companies.

Companies that assume online markets are the same markets that used to watch their ads on television are kidding themselves. - This statement means that the companies who thought the ads found in the real life and the ads in internet are the same are not aware of the online community. The ads found on the television, billboards, newspaper, etc. are somewhat vague, to extent that no backup is given to those kinds of ads, there is no proof that those products really work. The online community is smart these days, there are forums all over the internet where you can join and start asking questions, those people who know about the said product can join your conversation and comment about it, by these kinds of interaction online, there is backup and evidence about the product given, also the interaction online is so great that you can almost ask anything and receive many answers, great answers. Those ads we found on television, newspaper, billboards, radio, etc. don’t show the backup or proof about the said features, they just show the product and tell what it does, nothing is said more about the product. Making ads on television makes things complicated, since the ads on televisions are fast, the consumers don’t have time to think about it, they are like hypnotized by the goodness of the product and can’t think about the disadvantages at all. If the companies fail to notice the difference of the online ads and the ads found outside the internet, they will have hard time following the trend and might ruin their own reputation. This can be the beginning of the end of companies.

Companies that don't realize their markets are now networked person-to-person, getting smarter as a result and deeply joined in conversation are missing their best opportunity. - This statement means that the companies who think that their customers are dumb and just following whatever ads are thrown into them are fools. The consumers are much intelligent now, they are much aware of the things going around in their community and can react based on the situation. Companies don’t think that their customers are the one who will bring the company to the top, they always think about profit. If companies realize the online community is smart and not going to be fooled, they will change their advertising style and change how their employees work. The companies need also to focus on their employees because those employees know what their customers want since those employees are the one facing different people outside, so if the comments and suggestions of employees are heard, the company will benefit in a huge amount since those comments and suggestions are coming from the experience, recent experience. Also, the companies should listen to the people or customers as well, since they will buy the product, customers wants and needs are a must, companies should focus their product based on the needs and wants of the people so that many people will buy and bring more profit to the company. People are getting smart online because there are lot of resource available to comment on the product, there are lot of website which gives great information about products. People will always visit those kinds of website because they know if they read those statements said on the sites, they will benefit and even pay less to buy the products.

If they blow it, it could be their last chance. - This statement means that by using the right technology at the right time, companies will have a great time communicating with the right people, since the people know what they want, they will be forced to buy at your company and even become loyal customers. Consumers prefer those companies who give them respect and focus in return, if those people knew that the company is giving much effort to satisfy the people, they will come back again to buy your product, by doing this, the companies can have great time selling products to the right people and those who are just new to buying their products. Communication between people and the companies are a must, since by communicating, both parties will know about each other’s information and what they want, by having a great communication, both parties will have advantages. Companies need to spread information about their products so that the people all over the place will know about it, also, the information about the product should be correct, because if the person found out it was a lie, he will not buy your products anymore and eventually your company will fall. Companies should always prioritize their customers because they are the one who is the key for the business to be a success, if the people doesn’t buy, then who will buy, companies should win the trust and loyalty of their customers so that they will come again to your shop to buy, and also, they can refer your company to their friends. 20. Companies need to realize their markets are often laughing. At them. - This statement means that the people are aware of the company’s position; the people know what the company’s reputation is and what kind of products they are selling. If the companies start to fool their customers, the customers will be aware immediately, since the use of technology is common, the word about fooling will spread instantly, and in those moments, the company will have no choice but to look at their own disaster. But for the company to survive these kinds of events they have to be honest about their products and services, since saying anything about your product will turn against the company, why not tell the truth at all. Companies think that they will outsmart the people or their customers by saying good words, they are wrong, people are informed immediately these days, any event or happening anywhere around the place is spread instantly, people are always there to criticize anything new that may come up, it’s up to the company how they will defend themselves and their company. Sometimes the companies start to change for good, but they fail, because their number one priority is money/ profit, they always thought that profit is the key to success, but they are always wrong. For them, the customers are just necessities for the company to run, they don’t think about the hidden gold the customers can give to the company if the company starts to be honest. People sometimes outsmart the companies by abusing the products or services given by the company, in these times, companies need to think of ways on how to defend themselves.
  13. 13. 13 13 21. Companies need to lighten up and take themselves less seriously. They need to get a sense of humor. - This statement means that the companies are taking their jobs too seriously that they forget about being human. They act like they would not hurt feelings of others on the way of getting in to the top. They tend to ignore those who get slammed by their actions and do nothing about it. The companies should rest in a while to think about the past, for what just happened, think about the present, what they can do now, and about future, what they need to do in future so that they will grow strong and not slam other companies or people in the process. They need to socialize more with the people around them, and their customers, so that the two way communication can be done, by doing this the companies will have the knowledge what the other people want, and what their customers want. In return, the people will know more about the company, their processes, and their way of work. The companies should not force their employees too much because they are also human, companies should have knowledge about being human in work industry so that they will have control over in every aspect of the game. They need to be normal, they should act like they are not seniors in position but they are human, human who communicate with other people so flow of knowledge will be great. Companies need to have sense of humor so that in any conversation, they can relate easily and can comment freely. 22. Getting a sense of humor does not mean putting some jokes on the corporate web site. Rather, it requires big values, a little humility, straight talk, and a genuine point of view. - This statement means that being “professional” is the key to success in the work industry. One should not just fool around and make weird actions. To be successful in a business, people should act, talk, and move like professionals because they are the front in the row of the company’s profile, they are the one presenting the company to outside world. Having big values help a lot, since talking to different kinds of people, from different countries, from different races, having humility helps person to talk in a way that it suits everyone possible. Also, people need to say the truth, because the industry cannot run solely on lies, saying the truth always results in a great opportunity; other people will understand your situation and eventually help, since they also have gone through that experience. Straight talk is also a great topic to begin with, talking straight and direct to the point conquers any fears or misunderstanding within the person, if the employees or higher officials of company would talk direct to the point, they will win the trust of other people because other people will think that you are honest. And in talking with customers, the employees should have sense of humor and respect for the customer so that the customer will be satisfied by the morals of the employee and will buy the product without any hesitation. If the company is always talking about the money, profit, business that will lead to nothing, because business doesn’t run on business aspects only.
  14. 14. 14 14 23. Companies attempting to "position" themselves need to take a position. Optimally, it should relate to something their market actually cares about. - This statement means that the companies need to relate their topics, services or products on which the market really need or want. The companies should focus their goal on the people and their everyday needs so that the company should be able to help those people and those people will help the company in return by buying their products. If the companies will just ignore the needs and wants of the people, their work will be just a waste, because no one will get benefits from it. The companies should position themselves based on what their company background is or what they are offering; they cannot just run into another category immediately without any knowledge. Position in this topic means that to step up and get into the market where they belong. People are there to spend money so fast, but the company’s strategy of selling is making the people refuse to spend their money. If the companies actually think of their target market, they will step up and do everything just to get into that position and win the trust and loyalty of different people. But always thinking about ourselves doesn’t make sense at all, since the top priority in business is the profit and the people, if the company doesn’t really care about the people at all, the company will be destroyed. Companies need also to bring the people or customers to that position and level them up to the position of the company so that there will be understanding between the two. 24. Bombastic boasts—"We are positioned to become the preeminent provider of XYZ"—do not constitute a position. - This statement means that the companies who think that they are the best are fools. Companies often tend to tell to public that their company is best is because those companies want to win the trust of the people by saying lies. Sometimes they put lies in ads and in products so that the people will be amazed or trust immediately the product given to them. Companies should not boast about their reputation or their products just for the people to buy more and more of it, the people are there to spend more and more money on products, it’s just that the companies are preventing the people to spend their money because the companies are just hyped when it comes to advertising and product releasing.
