  • 30. So ... why have KM people been slow to exploit social media and social business ?
  • 31. KM people often the first to ‘get’ social business
  • 32. KM people have the right skills, right concepts
  • 33. But others took a lead in (shiny!) social media
  • 34. Problems: power plays, IT dependence and silos
  • 35. So how can KM ideas move out of the library and deliver real business improvement?
  • 36. Knowledge networkers, connecting the firm
  • 37. Find and open up data to improve performance
  • 38. Analyse behaviour to drive service improvement
  • 39. Help people filter, navigate and make sense
  • 40. Design ‘architectures of participation’
  • 41. KM ideas are good but KM IT practice is not so good.
  • 42. Social business builds on KM, but focuses more on business improvement.
  • 43. We need to take the best KM ideas mainstream, and move deeper into the business.
