The trust underlying all our relationships is being threatened and shrinks back to its human core : human to human, allowing for participative choices to emerge, be them collaborative or cooperative. An desired object, omnipresent in our urban landscape is used as an illustration of how the power of internet enabled conversations can create something radially different : the 'neighbourhood car'

  • Globally and simultaneously, our RELATIONSHIPS live a very important time, a time of crises, catalyst for CHANGE.\nLet’s browse swiftly ...\n
  • Our RELATIONSHIPS with our PLANET are in crises :\n«new» germs : AIDS, SARS\nFukushima\nOil Spill\nsea of plastic\nvisible AND invisible pollution\n
  • Our RELATIONSHIPS with SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGIES are in crises\n\nthe stop to Space exploration\nThe threat of a nuclear winter\nthe fear of genetics manipulation\n
  • Our RELATIONSHIPS with SOCIETY are in crises \n\nhomeless\n«los indignados»\nThe «Facebook» revolutions\nPrivacy and identity threats\n
  • and obviously our COMMERCIAL RELATIONSHIPS are in crises.\n\nThe fall of Telecom (Worldcom), Energy (ENRON), finances (Lehman Brothers)\npublic debt legacy (PIGS)\nThe persistence of the Bottom of the pyramid\n
  • These crises have a core question in common : \n\nWHO IS TO BE TRUSTED THESE DAYS to take a care of us, our finances, our data, and our interests ? \n
  • Yet TRUST does not disappear, it HAS TO BE, it is a key FOUNDATION of LIFE.\nAnimals trust each other\nA child needs to feel TRSTED above all to GROW\nANY currency is a measure of TRUST.\n
  • ???\n
  • WHERE DOES TRUST GO ?\n\nwhere it’s will always be : between INDIVIDUALS, HUMAN BEINGS who want to be RECOGNIZED and cherish to be SOCIAL. The HUMAN RACE is a SOCIAL one.\n\n\n\n
  • So people chose to PARTICIPATE.\n\nHERE & NOW....\n\n\n
  • THE TOOLKIT has never been as powerul, and it’s only the beginning (alternative/digital currencies ? )\n
  • and can be used to COLLABORATE, i.e. \n«work together for a COMMON goal, objective, shared purpose»\n
  • Some famous, and not so famous collaboration endeavours seen on the web and IRL («in real life»)...\n
  • or COOPERATE\n «TO ACT jointly with others»\n
  • This is where the term ‘collaborative consumption’s often being used.\n\n\n\n
  • SO in one word I invite you to JOIN and PARTICIPATE, and make it HAPPEN\n\nBe a good Friend, a relative, a neighbor ! SHARE, SHARE, SHARE, and BUILD trust and ties.\nThis is a unique time when ANYBODY can take an ACTIVE PART in the life, well being and economic growth of our neighbourhoods, taking advantage of the Best global practices, thanks to the web.\n\nAny waste will be eradicated, forever.\n
  • So what’s got to do with the neighbourhood car , A LOT don’t you think ?\n\nnow let’s practice and talk about CARS ! \n\nOPTIONAL : a physical exercise :\n1- car owners please STAND UP !\n2 - if you have shared your car with a relative, friend or colleague at least once, first thank you for being the change, you can sit down.\n....if you are still standing, do not worry, it is safe and we are friendly people here !\n3 - I call for people without cars to stand up ! thank you\n4- those of you who have borrowed a relative / friend / colleague car you can now sit down. thank you\n\n5 - (if time allows) I invite those who are standing to share with us what it would take to have them share / borrow a car...\n\n\n\n\n
  • Goood,\n\nwelcome to the neighbourhood car, also known as car rental between humans !\n\nHEre is how we, at Cityzencar help you free yourself from your car, and free your car to others.\n\n\n
  • \nHow do you know that smebody needs a car ? \n
  • and how dyou know if a car can be borrowed. and if so, xhether it woud be suitable to your specific need ? \n\n
  • It is not an everyday conversation between friends and neighbours, is it ?\n
  • \nPlease join the first conversation, where renters and borowers can meet each other, build trust and feel comfortable... The facebook of car rental\n
  • Mais ce n’est pas tout... quand enfin on a LA conversation elle n’est pas des plus facile....\n\nbut then that conversation is not an easy one.\n
  • it’s full of fear and unpleasant topics... What if ?\n\n\n
  • there is the obvious one,of course.\n
  • which can be tragic, no doubt.\n
  • and then, how about this one.\n
  • \nso we have here the second conversation, that deals, with the contracual framework : price, rights, obligations, and of course all the what ifs, the most important being the insurance cover (but not only)\nwe aim at making it fair, simple clear and seamless.\n
  • finally, here we are next to our desired object and we need to ...swap keys and check in/out. Nit that easy when you have the diary of Mr Paco Rabanne.\n
  • yet it is a key moment, that creates the bond, the link and solidifies the trust.\n
  • \n\nHis is the lats conversation, the one ‘around the car’ which we can now disconnect from the act of rental enables by technology, in particuler mobile web and smart telematics. This is why in cityzencar a renter can unlock the doors with a simple phone (smartphone allowed but not necessary).\n
  • let’s free ourselves AND our cars to connect up .\n\nWhat are you waiting for, join up, it’s a snap ! our kids know it.\n
